5 Steps To Being Unstoppable
Everyone gets stopped in different ways. Some people get overloaded, some succumb to fear and others see things as impossible. Are you ready to be done with all that?
“Life takes on meaning when you become motivated, set goals and charge after them in an unstoppable manner.” -Les Brown
As business professionals there are many obstacles in your path. Some are easy to manage and some are more complex. Occassionally there are really big ones that stop you dead in your tracks. You may or may not have the tools to manage those obstacles.
The key to success in business (and really anywhere) is simple not to stop. That can of course be much more difficult to implement than one might think though! So what does it really take to change this pattern? Maybe it just takes a little thought.
Have you ever taken a moment to understand what “unstoppable” really means? Really, is it something we humans can honestly even grasp? Life is full of doubt and confusion. In difficult times it can be easy to succumb to fear, anxiety, frustration and worry. But turning this around is far simpler than anyone has ever told you. But changing that might be even easier than you think.
It feels so complex, intricate and overwhelming to understand what unstoppable means. Some want it to mean fearless. Others might describe it as flawless. Being unstoppable may be terrifying and full of bumps and bruises though. But what if it was as simple as this?
Step 1
When you speak of big goals rather than saying “I’m not sure I can do that” instead try “Ok, where do I start?”
Step 2
While implementing your plan don’t say “I’m not ready” but ask yourself “What help do I need?”
Step 3
When faced with difficult choices refrain from words like “I am confused” or “I don’t know how to choose.” Take a simple step forward and ask for guidance.
Step 4
When someone says it is “impossible to go on” simply stand up and say “That is not an option.” Then help that person to stand up with you.
Step 5
Do all of this without blinking, without pausing, without question, without judgment and without expectation. (Yes I know this is the hard part!)
The world is full of reasons for you to stop. It can even be more comfortable. In fact, we could even describe why you stop in terms of comfort zones. But the reality is being unstoppable IS uncomfortable. So maybe instead of worrying about why it’s uncomfortable you could look for help.
Being unstoppable isn’t something you do alone (see Step 4). Being unstoppable means asking for help, giving help, sharing and caring. Being unstoppable is about doing it together. Individually we can be uncompromising.
Individually we are uncompromising. Bu together we are...
...well...
...I don’t think I can truly comprehend what we are together just yet. But I am confident the world will take notice of us! And I know at the very least this is what unstoppable looks like.
Business professionals have a never ending flow of challenges and problems to solve. Becoming unstoppable is really just one answer. But it isn't necessarily something that needs to (or can) be done alone.
So the real question is...who wants to join me at Step 4?
