A Peaceful Mind Naturally Heals The World

If success in our endeavors and peace and prosperity for the world is our objective, it is time to slow down and rest our minds.

Miracles are natural. When they do not occur, something has gone wrong.*

We are unspeakably gifted and wondrous beings. So, why does the world continue to be a muddle? Because we are traveling too fast and missing the wonder that we are right before our eyes.

If peace, health and prosperity for our children and the world are our objective, it is time to slow and gently rest our minds. Resting our mental processes and gently flooding our mind and heart with peace and light, striving only to see the good in others and within ourselves helps us listen and take notice of all that is well. In this way, we remember the miracle of life, and miracles that are presently blocked from our awareness by busy, chaotic minds expand in our awareness.

What follows is the science of why a peaceful, light-filled mind is fundamental and imperative for shifting the state of our world and for saving lives.

In today's economic and political environment there is tremendous fear "in the air." The fear in the air is literally coming from our mind. This is fact. At the quantum level we are generating all the static. Statistics for addiction, suicide, and consumption of anti-depressants are stunning. People are weary, confused and hurting. Our children are hurting. The earth is hurting. Many do not yet realize that our own chaotic minds, and resulting choices, are the difficulty. Yet this circumstance is nothing to feel guilty for or to judge. We need only slow and trust peace within. In this way, peace manifests in the world. Indeed, this is the only way peace will manifest in the world. It is the pure quantum science of Divine Intelligence - peace inside, peace outside.

Thankfully, we are all asking better questions of ourselves. We are beginning to wonder, "Are we missing something since fear, guilt, blame and shame doesn't seem to be working particularly well?"

Now is the time, this moment, to breathe gently, to rest the mind, to take gentle note of our internal state of being. As we allow anxiety to dissolve we are able to go more deeply within, to the light that is always present.

We must be courageous enough to recognize that the chaotic, fear-believing, blame-ridden, critical mind, our very own critical mind, is directly responsible for contributing to circumstances in the external world. The external world is a direct result of our collective internal state and our resulting choices. This is quantum God-fact. That deeply felt-thought creates is long proved by science, and far longer asserted by our greatest leaders of peace, those able to access high states of awareness. When we trust peace, peace manifests somewhere in the world. When we trust fear, fear manifests in the world. Only one of these states of being is real (peace), but both states (peace and fear) feel profoundly real to us from our highly limited vantage. Ask anyone who has suffered or witnessed the suffering of another.

The cool thing is that a busy, chaotic, critical mind is nothing to fight, to fear or to feel guilty about. Simply allow unpeaceful sensations to dissolve. Why? Partaking in (believing) internal or external fighting, fearing, guilting and judging actually keeps the inner difficulty intact. We are simply to rest the busy mind, drop joyfully into our heart space and easily forgive our forgetting of peace. This is actually easy. Why? Our True Nature is always peaceful, joyful, happy and abundant. We are simply to flow into the peaceful light in our mind that has always been there, trusting the easy, forgiving way of those who have enlightened the way through the ages. Trust your heart, not ego.

The peaceful are wise scientists of the Absolute. Such beings understand profoundly that the Absolute does not register error, though here - in the dreamtime of forgotten Oneness - we feel the effects of error all the time. Our True Absolute Nature knows only perfect peace, perfect love, perfect being. This knowledge, when we trust it and live by it, leads to the miraculous becoming part of our everyday life.

Here's a story worth contemplating.

In the early 1960's two medical professors of psychology were working under excruciatingly difficult circumstances at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. Their relationship and department was in chaos. One astonishing day, these two incredible individuals asked within for another way. In doing so with sincerity, Dr. Helen Schucman and Dr. William Thetord encountered a response that was beyond anyone's wildest imagination, most especially theirs.

Dr. Schucman and Dr. Thetford were highly regarded experts in the field of the human ego. They held, by virtue of their role as psychologists at a prestigious university, the public's trust for helping us solve our problems. Yet, as mentioned above, these two distinguished academics and healers were leading profoundly dysfunctional lives. They loved and respected each other deeply, yet they were mentally and emotionally competitive and argumentative. The stress of their existence finally became so overwhelming they did the unthinkable. They surrendered their critical minds just enough to allow a miracle to occur. At great risk to their professional careers, Dr. Schucman and Dr. Thetford proceeded to devote a good portion of the rest of their lives to recording and sharing "another way" with those who were sufficiently prepared and interested (i.e., weary enough with what wasn't working) to learn it. The results have been nothing short of stupendous, and are long verified by science.

It turns out "another way" sits so close to us, within us actually, that we barely notice its presence. This is because "the within approach" that is advocated through their work is not the approach the modern mind has become accustomed to using. Over the course of approximately ten years, beginning in 1965, Dr. Schucman and Dr. Thetford scribed and edited a document called A Course in Miracles (pub. 1976). While this document debunked their entire life's work regarding the workings of the human mind, these individuals set about accomplishing a task that is changing the course of humanity. After more than 33 years in outstretched hearts worldwide, and backed both by ancient and contemporary teachings, as well as by scientific revelation, we are finally beginning to grasp that the state of our very own mind is causing the state of the world. This statement bears repeating in the most gentle of ways: The state of our mind is causing the state of the world. The cool thing is that we are realizing this is great news! This is nothing to feel badly about or to react negatively towards. For now, we realize have all the power to shift our world toward peace rather than feeling "at victim" to "external" circumstances. We are realizing we can let go of stories that aren't working for us anyway and reach inside for better information for how to relate and create, and, best of all, that there is no one, including ourselves, to blame. We are simply creative intelligence learning about itself from a state of deep amnesia. The cure for the amnesia rests always and only within us, ever present, gently and patiently waiting to be invited into our awareness.

The inner path of seeking the light, the Absolute, within the mind is no longer being dismissed as a path only for those with extra time on their hands or for those with spiritual inclinations. The inner path saves lives and potentially thousands of years of painful learning. It turns out that slowing our mind and seeking the Light in our mind naturally undoes (i.e., releases) our own unconscious anxiety/fear/any unpeaceful thought-feeling that has us blocked and believing we are alone and in need of constantly defending ourselves to surviveWhen we are triggered by anxiety or feeling numb or scared or tortured by life, we are learning to refocus on the light in exactly the same way we guide a child toward thoughts and activities that help them be happy rather than sad or mad. As we do this, a miracle occurs. We are guided from within for how to move, and how to not move, through our moments, our days, and our earthly lives.

As we shift internally toward peace (which is always present because it is beyond consciousness), the world shifts naturally because the external world is always and only a reflection of our collective internal state. In effect, when we smile within (and forgive ourselves and each other when we forget because this can take some practice!), the world smiles back.

Thank you for your time and interest in an article such as this. We all are the real miracle.

Thank you for this article Laura. It reminds me that despite all the chaos we experience interacting with the economy these days, we all need to step back and be grateful for what we have. If everyone were to read this article, especially the world's political leaders, we would all be in a much better place.

Thank you Rich. With all my heart, I pray it is well received. I have thought of sending the piece (or a longer one) to as many as possible. Looking to the light within will, quite literally, save lives of children and adults everywhere. Thanks for all the work you are doing to help all of us in the Biznik community learn how to more effectively share our work. Blessings Wild and Wondrous Knight of the Light!

Couldn't agree more, Laura! Peace of mind is the first step, otherwise I don't think we can enjoy fully anything we accomplish. Meditation is a good way to find that quiet state of mind in which we are much more productive and happy. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!

Laura, I'm new to Biznik and just read your article. I couldn't agree more. As a professional organizer, I'm constantly trying to get my clients organized with the primary goal of providing them the mental wellbeing that will result from an orderly environment. But that also goes for us business entrepreneurs; we may be organized but that doesn't mean we don't need the time to take a step back, a deep breath and just be thankful. It's the best way to rejuvenate and enhance creativity. Thanks so much for your wonderfully inspiring article.
