Wow - what a session we had last night! 10 AMAZING women joined me in my studios, bringing their WONDERFUL projects and OPEN hearts with them - and they blew me away!

We explored each woman's Purpose in her business (and life), which yielded her business' Vision, and tied that purpose to her products and/or services through the use of a few tools.

We ever so briefly revisited the "Monetizing Your Creativity" worksheet and I encouraged them (and you dear reader) to take time to explore that worksheet and fill it out as a way of clarifying Vision and Mission, and getting real about having business happen in a way that makes perfect sense. Jayne Dearborn's worksheet is available on our Blogsite here - download hers and see what she came up with in our first session and then drop her an e-mail and ask her about the further refinement she did in our session last night. Here's the link to her profile on LWL: http://network.ladieswholaunch.com/members/?id=3722280

Another of those tools is a two-fold question: When your Vision is fulfilled, what will exist in the world as a result? What will people's experience be as a result? Answering this brought us closer to what truly drives us individually, and allows us to see what is the real contribution to our customers/clients we are through our products and services we provide to them.

Another tool was a response to a process. The process begins with LISTENING to your community about your self and your business, and saying (whether you sincerely believe this or not at first), "Thank you. I believe you!" Someone says to you, "You're brilliant! This is exactly the kind of service people in that situation need to help them resolve their challenge." You say, "Thank you. I believe you!" It was awkward for some of the women to say at first - and I asked them to practice this out there in the "real" world, to keep saying "Thank you. I believe you!" until it became as sincere a response to that positive feedback as their expressions of love and connection are to their cherished family and friends.

Another tool we began to work with as our time together drew to an end, was "The Rule of Threes", which I'm uploading with this entry. I had the ladies read through the description of this process pulled together by a fellow business coach in Seattle, Molly Gordon of Shaboom Inc. I use this process in my Guerilla Exhibitor course [ http://workingartistsonline.com/gx ]. The idea behind this process is to voluntarily LIMIT YOURSELF to a single outcome you seek, DESCRIBE who you would need to be to fulfill on this goal, IDENTIFY three attributes you have that if they were known would bring about these results, further IDENTIFY three channels in which to "place" these attributes, and then EXPRESS these attributes at least three times in each channel within a three month period.

Now, this is the point where we talked a bit about the "scarcity conversation". Ofttimes we are unable to focus on things because we are AFRAID WE'LL MISS A CRITICAL OPPORTUNITY that could have changed our business (lives) - so we try to be all things to all people, do all things that we've ever thought of, be all places where we KNOW our product or service will make a difference for folks. And to further stress us out, somewhere in the backs of our brilliant minds we believe that if we focus on just one outcome, or one set of customers, WE'LL LOSE ALL THE OTHERS!!

Believe me when you read this: It is simply untrue!

What happens far more frequently (my gut tells me over 80% of the time) is that you will lose everything by trying to be/do/have everything right now.

Breathe.

Relax.

All your amazing attributes won't dry up and vanish because you focus on three. All the ways of gaining recognition in the world won't disappear all of a sudden because you commit to exploring just three of those avenues. Customers you don't have yet, will not be unavailable to you because you chose to focus on just one set of customers first - they will find you, and when you are successful with one group of clients, you can then CONFIDENTLY and RESPECTFULLY move on to the next group of people who are attracted to and need your service or product.

Believe me when I write to you that when you focus yourself on one goal, one process, one VISION, you will be unendingly powerful. And far more effective.

The final tool that I sent the ladies home with was an art project. This tool's intention is to embody the woman's VISION in a tangible, artistic form. I gave each woman a 3" x 3" ceramic tile, and then opened my studio treasures to them for the taking.

FOCUS comes from understanding and being inspired by your VISION. Give yourself as many ways as possible to be reminded of that Vision, to use those reminders as litmus tests to guide your actions in your day-to-day. They creating their small assemblages on that everyday tile I believe will make a powerful and everlasting impact on them. It will give them a 3D version of their vision, a tangible checking-in device to remind them of what they are up to in their lives and their business.

To help them imagine how they could work with their tiles and all the little knick knacks they took with them, I showed them my new artworks for my upcoming show, "48". You can check out some of those artworks on my LWL gallery page athttp://network.ladieswholaunch.com/members/member_gallery.asp?id=3879195&album=26143

At the end of our time together I sent them home with - yep - homework! Just the educator in me. ;-)

Their homework (and yours should you choose to accept this mission) is:

1) Work with the "Monetizing Your Creativity" worksheet. Download Jayne's version to help guide you. You will be amazed at how powerful doing this work can be...ask Jayne.

2) Work with the "Rule of Threes" process to plan out a powerful word-of-mouth marketing campaign. Again, this is a powerful process.

3) Share via this blogsite your "Rule of Threes" plan. [Doing this will drive up your accountability level, while inspiring other women to focus and follow through with their own planning processes.]

4) Create an artwork that will embody for you your Vision. [If you are inspired to do so, take a picture of it and post it here for others to share with you.]

It helps to have someone to Buddy with to keep you accountable, to help you brainstorm the answers, to remind you of your strengths and valuable attributes. Make a weekly commitment to communicate your progress. You are not alone in this experience, why try to go it alone? There are other women here who are excited, committed and need your partnership as much as you need theirs.

There was a lot more conversation, insights, etc. that happened in that room last night. Ask the ladies what they took away from the session. I came away with so much more than I went into that event with last night because of them.

Have questions? Drop me an e-mail, I'll be happy to respond.

I'm looking forward to learning about you and what you're up to!

With love,

A.
Adrienne Fritze
Artist - Social Entrepreneur - Business Educator
a@workingartistsonline.com | 503.349.6075

FOR A LIST OF THE LADIES WHO PARTICIAPTED, INCLUDING THEIR LWL PROFILES, AND COMMENTS ON THIS POST, VISIT: http://network.ladieswholaunch.com/members/blog_view.asp?id=198928
