Question:

  • Is there a place to learn how to maximize the website, services and resources of Biznik?

Answer:

Question:

  • Is it free?

Answer:

  • No.  As a ProVIP member, the cost was $25 for the 2 1/2 hours.  If I calculate the correctly?  There were three hosts plus a co-founder of Biznik (Lara) available for questions and answers as they showed the details of how to maximize Biznik, the internet and a little SEO to boot.  To hire them individually would cost --  I would guess $2000 at the very least for this time period.  I think they are owed a lunch or two from me as well for the incredible job they did.

Question:

  • Is the Biznik website easy to learn?

Answer:

  • Yes.  There are however buttons, badges and links that are as plain as day and yet seem to hide in plain site.   Pete walks through each one step by step and talks about the do's and don'ts.

Example:

  • Don't use ineffective words in the "your job" field.
  • Use the location mapping tool correctily.
  • Keywords in the "About You" section which are relevant to the "job" field are important.
  • Pull the Twitter and Blog feeds into the profile page.
  • There is something to be said about articles as well.  (Including this article)  Articles (even this one) which have a rating of 8 or higher (don't rate this one until you finish), are stack up in the Biznik files.  Enough articles with an 8 or higher gives the Biznik member a badge.  The badges and point system determines the level of where your photo comes up on a list in Biznik.  This means contribution, helpfulness, quality can give a member more eyeballs on their profile.  This explains why Pete and Kate's photos are popping up everywhere.  They both contribute high quality, helpful content which is voted well by others who read it

Question:

  • What is the big deal about paying money for just another membership site?

Answer:

  • Google Juice and top of site awareness on Biznik.  We hear it as SEO or Search Engine Optimization.  Since the goal is to be found by people, every little bit counts.  SEO experts may charge $500 to $2000 a month for search engine optimization.  Biznik offers a platform for $25 that with a little know how from Pete DiSantis, CMC, John Erdman and Richard Gabel in "Polish Your Profile", the Google Juice flows much easier without the big expense.

Example:

  • Here are is a list of ProVIP members benefits:
  • Bio on Article Footers gets a link to your site.
  • Promotions are included in Featured Promotion
  • Can post a signature line
  • Listed in the right sidebar on search in Biznik
  • Is listed at the top of the directories
  • In essence, each PROVip member gets a little more attention, eyeballs and spotlight.

Question:

  • Do you have to be a PRO member or ProVIP member of Biznik to get SEO juice?

Answer:

  • No.  According to Pete DiSantis, CMC, John Erdman and Richard Gabel at the Polish Your Profile workshop, every Biznik member has the benefits of SEO simpy by being a member.  This works much better of course if the profile, about you page, categories and location is utilized correctly.  There are ways to turn on the SEO Juice faucet just a bit more.

Examples of SEO benefits any Member has:

  1. Article Comments
  2. Articles Published
  3. Promotions
  4. Biztalk Posts
  5. Events Attended
  6. Events Hosted
  7. Sponsorships
  8. Websites
  9. Categories
  10. Locations
  • There are actually nine more on the list.  This is only to get you started.

While it may seem this article was meant to pump up Biznik, Pete DiSantis, CMC, John Erdman and Richard Gabel and the "Polish Your Profile" workshop event, in reality it was not.  It is really about you and every other person I meet who says to me:  "Mike, you are an Inbound Marketing Certified Professional right?  How can I do better and get found on Google and Yahoo without knowing coding, html or programming?"  One of the simplest answers is Biznik and another is Google Places (a new name for old service).

If you want to increase your chances of being found without a big investment, no coding or programming, no SEO experience... then take your laptop to Pete DiSantis, CMC, John Erdman and Richard Gabel "Polish Your Profile" workshop and when you leave, your profile will be complete.  They have raised the bar and offer high value for nothing more than lunch money. (I also had the bonus of meeting a few outstanding entrepreneurs at the workshop,)

If you are not local?  Email Pete and tell him you want me to broadcast it live over the internet next time.  At the very least a video recording or webinar.

    Michael, You are too kind.

I'm glad you pointed out the fact that it is not about me and John or Dick. It's about how to give our Biznik Buddies an upper hand in SEO.

I will be talking to Biznik about doing this in a webinar soon.

    Thx, ciao, P>}

    Michael,

Good article. Thank you. And having sat with John over coffee previously I too can attest to his knowledge and desire to help. After having been at the Pro level for some time I only recently upgraded to the ProVIP level.
Either way i advise my customers and anyone else I encounter in business to get on Biznik if they are not, and to be active if they are. I think it's the best business networking site out there...certainly that I've encountered.

    Maximus,

Glad to have your great comment. No doubt there is value but I guess someone still has to know how to use the tool and then actually use it.

    Bill,

Good of you to scan and catch mine and I thank you for saying those great words. It means a lot!

    Michael,

It is good to see another cheer leader by the name of Michael. Thanks for sharing.

    Jed,

Very glad to hear it was clear enough for someone in unfamiliar territory.

Free to join. This one was actually easier than many others. As with any new platform, there is a small learning curve.

If you get stuck? Let me know! (or give Pete, John, Rick a message) :)
