Success, opportunities or lucky breaks don’t always come from working hard or getting educated as many would have you believe.

I can show you examples of people who work hard and have more degrees than a thermometer. Yet they still haven't lived up to their potential. I can also show you other examples of people born into grinding poverty and barely graduated high school whose achieved staggering success. And they didn't have to sing, rap or play basketball to achieve it.

But they did have the uncanny ability to be at the right place at the right time. You can call it luck, talent or a special gift if you want to. But on closer examination I've discovered 3 easy but effective secrets these people share. And if you apply these 3 secrets you’ll find yourself standing in the right place at the right time more often.

What Lucky Breaks Often Comes Down To ... That Most People Miss

Being at the right place at the right time for opportunities and success to find you. Yes, that's a common thread you'll always notice when listening to successful people tell their story.  Read the biographies of the rich, famous and successful and you'll see examples of being at the right place at the right time.

You've no doubt known people who lucked into success, whether they were born into or worked decades to achieve it. I admit, sometimes how hard or even how smart you work can play a role in achieving success. And on occasion who you know can open doors. I agree with all those points.

But do you know the one trait they all have in common?  They still had to be at the right place at the right time to not only get it ... but keep it. Whether they were born into, had to work decades to get to it or stumbled on it by accident.

The inability to be at the right place at the right time is also the missing link. Of who? The hard working, educated or even talented people who don't quite live up to their potential.

Here's 3 easy but effective actions to help you be in the right place at the right time ... whatever your goal may be. For example, whether it's increasing your income, finding a job, finding friends or finding love.

Think C.P.C ... To Find Opportunity

C.P.C means Circulate, Participate and Congregate.

Take the time to explore each of these tips and add them to your daily habits. Result?  You'll find yourself being in the right place at the right time more often.

1. Circulate -

Like air, water or even the blood in your body, circulation is a sign of life and health. And the people who circulate the most stand the best chance of being at the right place at the right time.

So, take it a habit to stay active. You can do it by staying active in various organizations clubs and groups. For example, volunteer for organizations, political groups, or your local church. Staying active can also include social network sites, blogs  and online forums that focus on your industry or topic of interest.

2. Participate -

Make it a habit to stay involved. Contribute, speak up, give. That means getting involved and contributing to organizations in your neighborhood. For example where you live or work. This is one of the best ways to establish connections and relationships.

Share suggestions and ideas, help out, ask questions, answer questions, help others get answers. In an age where everyone wants to be a spectator, entertained or get help. If you’ll do the opposite by helping others and serving others, the rewards will astound you.

3. Congregate -

Make it a habit to meet regularly with like-minded people that harmonize with the goals you want to achieve. The more you congregate with like-minded people the more opportunities you'll discover to learn, advance and network.

Birds of feather do and should flock together. Why? Because there’s safety in numbers, as well as opportunity, to be at the right place at the right time.

After doing the  easy but effective actions just mentioned, a funny reaction will start to happen.  You'll notice people starting to call you lucky, fortunate or even blessed, plus other similar descriptions.

You'll find yourself graciously recognizing their comments and smiling inside, because  you’ll know the real reason. You took the time to circulate, participate and congregate.

Standup comedian has to be one of the toughest ways to earn a living. That's where timing is everything.

Quick story, I can remember a cousin of mine who can make you laugh by reading the phone book. I could say the same thing he says but never get the laughs he gets. It took me years to discover it was timing. That same principle can be applied to a lot of other activities, tasks and even professions.
