<p>The Economy is not dead. Last night while I was at work I was reflecting on a period of time when things were better. For me this was before 2007. I was working many different jobs, working freelance gigs and keeping busy. I remember receiving a check for for $2900 for one weeks of work . Wow! Times have certaintly changed. I don't even want to discuss 2008. Most of you probably feel the same. So I asked myself a question.</p>
<p><strong>How can we make the economy better?</strong></p>
<p>I often just ask myself questions. I find that we often ask others for help. However you can look within yourself, and find the answer. Try it.</p>
<p><strong>What do I need to create positive change in my life?</strong></p>
<p>Let's embrace 2009! This does not mean that we should follow the gloom and doom of the news. As I walked outside this morning I looked around. </p>
<p><strong>The world is still busy. My neighborhood is still busy.<br /></strong></p>
<p><strong>People are still driving around.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Where are they going?</strong></p>
<p><strong>What are they doing?</strong></p>
<p><strong>Do they work? Where?</strong></p>
<p><strong>What do they need?</strong></p>
<p><strong>What can I do to provide the needs of my neighborhood?<br /></strong></p>
<p>Today has taught me an important lession. When I stepped outside, I realized that if you did not turn on the news you would have no idea that there is a bad economy around us. </p>
<p>People are still all around us. They still need food, shelter, clothing, transportaion, or other services. I feel that a self sufficient community is the solution. If our own neighborhoods can provide the needed services to the local people then there will not be a need to depend on outside elements. Did you know that your local supermarket only has a 2-3 day supply of food? </p>
<p>Many of the services that we depend upon come from far away places and travel hundreds or thousands of miles to reach our homes. What if everything we needed was within walking distance or a short drive? </p>
<p>We would actually know our neighbors and support each other. We could work together to create a better neighborhood and through this effort we would improve the local economy. What can we do? So I asked more questions.</p>
<p><strong>How can we help to provide the needs of the masses? </strong></p>
<p><strong>What can we do to network?</strong></p>
<p><strong>How can you help the local economy?<br /></strong></p>
<p><strong>What can we do to help our local enivironment?</strong></p>
<p><strong>Stay local. What can you do to help your neighborhood?</strong></p>
<p><strong>What can you do to contribute to a self sufficient community?<br /></strong></p>
<p><strong>The future is local. Local food, local energy, local transportation, and helping your neighbor.<br /></strong></p>
<p><strong>All around us people need something. Provide it. </strong></p>
<p>Starting in March, I will be starting a fresh produce delivery business. For a small price I will provide people with fresh fruits and vegtables grown locally, and without pesticides. This is my service I choose to pursue. </p>
<p>I am still focusing on independent film and producing but for this moment in time I am reaching out to provide a need. Food! </p>

<p>Instead of turning on the television and complaining, pointing fingers, it is the time to rise above it. Be the change. Go out and make a diffierence. The results will surprise you. The economy is wounded but not dead!</p>
