Event description

Money. More people would rather disclose information about their sex lives than their financial lives! Money can be frustrating, and I want to make it a little more fun!

So, what are all of the money questions that plague your business owner brain as we zoom toward 2008?? Join me for a glass of wine and some appetizers, and let's talk about them!!

I'll discuss specific issues that business owners want to know, and I'll field whatever off-the-cuff questions people want to ask.

I will also provide a context to think about your relationship with money, and help you decide if your business is working for money, or if money is working for your business.

    Mindy,

As a mortgage broker, I see this fear of discussing money frequently! I'm eager to share my observations and hear everyone else's thoughts.

I hope I can make it to the event. I am now not sure if it is going to work for me to come into Seattle tomorrow. I will cancel my RSVP if I am not coming.

One of my big reasons for wanting to attend is similar to Charlie's; to get a sense of how to deal with the fear of discussing money. I want to host an event on "Land on Your Feet Working: A Survival Toolkit for Indie Businesses". Talking money is an important part of that.

One of the hats that I own is that I am a Certified Business Continuity Planner. Small and Independent Businesses can be especially at risk of failing due to something personal like a serious injury or a major disaster like an earthquake. Thinking about financial safeguards is important but so difficult if the business is practically hand to mouth already.
