Event description

By popular demand, this is the Biz Networking 201 class you requested, the sequel to How To Toot Your Own Horn. Learn secrets of bragging shamelessly but professionally - so you build trust and relationships from your very first meeting.

-------------------------------------

How come so many indies deliver services so brilliantly but have trouble communicating what they do?

Would you like to learn the secrets of bragging shamelessly (without sounding obnoxious, conceited, or sales-y)?

In this workshop we will share:

  1. The single most effective thing you can do when you meet someone for the very first time.

  2. The one action guaranteed to destroy your potential business relationship.

  3. How to take the first step to building trust before you leave a meeting.

  4. And a whole lot more.... Including online bragging tips if we have time

Our first 20 minutes or so will allow you to practice your "before" speech through informal networking. After some expert training, you are invited to volunteer to practice your new brag, with feedback from the group. A very productive (and fun) two hours.

We will limit the size of our class because we want plenty of time for attendee participation and coaching.

Last time I attended this event it totally opened my eyes to all kinds of small but effective ways to connect.

What's more, as a professional in the field of acupuncture it is important to get noticed, I learned how to get my name on the TOP of the first page of a google search.

If you want to connect with more people and have more fun doing it. Attend this event. See you there!

I agree! I tried just a few of the tips from the previous session and reaped results. I can't make the 29th, but I hope the class will be offered frequently...

I attended Howards first "Shameless Bragging" event and picked up a few tips. You will learn a lot from modest Howard and if it is like last time, you will see some examples featuring well known Biznik members.

One quick tip, if you are a supporting member, make sure that you have a tag line promoting your businesses at the end of your posts. You pay that $24 a month. Get the most mileage from it if you post regularly.

I really hate to lose out on this one because us realtors are notorious for telling people "it's nothing" and "it's what we do." Agents like myself go out of their way to go further for the client than anyone else might. But the client never knows how hard we are working for them and that someone else might not have given them that attention and care. We lose out on a lot because it's just how WE would do it for every client while the ho-hum agents would say the same thing. The good agents don't like to brag, and so we don't often stand out.

    It's an odd challenge. Neil

*Good news is I have to skip the meeting to go make an offer on a very beautiful home. :)

    Howard,

I was really looking forward to this, but casework raises its $$ head again. Being $$ busy is good. Having to miss a good session of yours is not good.

    Another time.

Great event, Howard. I'm so excited to have finally been able to attend one of your well-known and well-loved events. You live up to your reputation. The event was helpful, positive, inspiring and invigorating!

Lesson I took home from tonight - a reminder of the importance of telling a story to engage your audience, whether you're delivering a 90 second pitch to a room full of people, or engaging with someone you've just met in conversation.

You've shown all of us that business networking doesn't have to suck - it can be a lot of fun.

I've spent a lot of time polishing my intros, etc. and thought I had a pretty good handle on it.

    Last nite, I learned I didn't.

Less techno jargon - more human connection.

Thank you everyone for your very helpful insight!
