Seattle Community

Event description

The Biznik way of networking is a powerful combination of online social networking technology paired with face-to-face events. Learn from co-founders Lara Feltin and Dan McComb how to grow your business faster and become more profitable by using the tools at your disposal.

We'll walk you through the five main areas of the site, elaborate on the features as we designed them, and how to use them:

  • Your Profile: self promotion & visibility on the site
  • Events: hosting & attending
  • Membership: using the directory & your Biznik network
  • Biz Talk: online socializing & discussions
  • Articles & Tips: writing, rating & commenting

This workshop will be focused on questions YOU bring to the table - so come prepared to ask a lot of them.

  • Introductions start at 6:40.
  • Workshop & questions til 8:45.
  • Networking til 9.

What members say about the event

Just when you think you have Biznik figured out, they add a few more nuggets. I recommend this to anyone who wants to get the most our of their membership. --Bob Dunn
I was already excited about Biznik and had been spreading the word, but now I'm even more amped up about it. This is an incredible resource you've created and I have no idea why a small business owner would be part of any other networking service (online or in person). You have them all beat, hands down. Thank you!" --Debbie Lacy
I attended the tutorial about how to plug into all the benefits of Biznik last nite. I highly recommend everyone go to this event in the future. The site is amazing and continues to get better with all the plans you have in the works. It was a good use of my time and I am going to send my mktg partner to the next one. --Bill Hoffer

Parking on Capitol Hill

Office Nomads is on Capitol Hill, not the easiest neighborhood to park in - except for the Seattle Central Community College parking garage that is literally across the street from Office Nomads and costs only $4/night. Entrance is one block East on Harvard Ave. Take the stairs at the back of the garage to get onto Boylston without having to walk around the block.

Yipes! A job that should have taken 2 hours took 4 1/2 so I'm running way behind and won't be able to make this one. I'll try to catch the next one!

    Dan & Lara,

I'm sorry to cancel at the last moment and my day has gotten away from me. I hope you have a great event tonight... maybe I'll make it to the next one. If not I'll see you at the McLeod bash soon.

For those who missed out this time around, I highly recommend signing up for the next one. Dan and Lara offer some great tips on how to get the most out of your Biznik membership. I left with several action items on my list. They may have even convinced this introvert to host an event!

Thanks for coming out on such a lovely summer evening, everyone. It's always so inspiring to share with so many eager faces. Hope to see you at the monthly "indie business" happy hour that Dan and I are also hosting this week.

    Lara and Dan,

This was an event that far exceeded my expectations. I learned so much more about the value of the Biznik community, and am looking forward to being involved in a larger way. You were both spot on with the information you shared. I didn't have a clue about the bookmark function, and the demonstration showed how easy it is to keep track of what I want to hang on to for future reference. I also appreciate your willingness to consider ways to improve upon an already excellent service. Thanks for all you do.
