Event description

ONE CONSIDERATION BEFORE YOU RSVP:

I want a more in-depth conversation than the typical Biznik event usually offers so I want to make this a small, DIVERSE group for the purpose of building potential cross-referral connections. To that end, I'd like to ask that representation from any one profession be limited to two people. (A group a 8 financial advisors having happy hour together would be fun, but I doubt we'll be sending each other much referral business...)

  • Please review the professions of attendees before you RSVP.
  • I don't like to (but I will) ask people to un-RSVP. So, if there are already 2 people RSVPed who do share your profession please hold off for now. I'll try this out regularly for a while so feel free to send me a message or post a comment below and I will notify you once the next one is scheduled.
  • Also be aware that I am a financial advisor - one more below means that profession is full...

I'm a financial advisor (since 1995) and I'm looking to expand my network of financial professionals to whom I can be 100% comfortable referring my clients. At this moment in particular, I'm most interested in estate planning attorneys and tax professionals, but all (insurance agents, mortgage brokers, real estate agents, etc) are important, of course.

I'd like to discuss an array of topics revolving around the intricacies of our respective practices. Of course, things like our experience and training, ideal (and non-ideal) clients, fee structures, philosophies, professional focus, why we're different from our competition (if, in fact we are), and so on. I also like to be on more familiar terms with the people I recommend to my clients. Since I imagine there is a high percentage chance that we'll be sharing time over a couple drinks, getting to know each other personally also seems in order.

The Dexter & Hayes is a great neighborhood pub and I have no clue why they don't have a website (or, if they do, why I can't find it!). If you've never been there and are wondering where it is, it's all in the name!

I will be sure to make this one. I'm a slow learner but I've finally figured out that I can only book two clients a day and maintain any semblance of a personal life.

Some day I'll get to have an actual life. Any mentors out there for that? That would be a great group for small biz folks...How to maintain a healthy balance.

Had every intention of being there with bells on, and got tied up negotiating a contract. What can I say other than I'm thankful to be busy and the best laid plans ...

Please accept my most humble apologies.

    Sincerely,

    Brad
