Event description

This is another opportunity to get some exercise in one of Seattle's premier parks, while engaging in small group conversations about business or whatever is on your mind.

This is a no-tech event. The only sounds heard should be the sounds of our conversations overlaying the sounds of the birds (including at least one pair of nesting eagles), the wind in the trees and maybe the raindrops. Be sure to dress for the weather; we walk whatever the weather gods give us.

Please note: PETS ON LEASH AND CHILDREN ARE WELCOME! For the sake of the Biznik event, they just need to be able to keep up.

Meet at the park headquarters (Environmental Ed Center on the map) on the park entry loop road. Park in one of the two parking lots to your right as you enter the park (See the park map found at the second link below).

We'll take long enough to introduce ourselves before we walk. We'll depart the meeting point at 9:15 sharp. We'll do the loop clockwise this time; so, if you're late you know which way to go to catch up. Find info on the park and a park map (pdf) at the sites below.

Directions to the park and general information http://www.seattle.gov/Parks/environment/seward.htm

A map of the park. You will find the meeting place and the parking lots here. Click on the map so you download a map in pdf format. You will have to use the zoom feature of your pdf viewer to blow this thing up big enough for it to be useful. http://www.seattle.gov/parks/trails_detail.asp?id=428

This WnT was so fun last time, I have to do it again.

Note to all the parents out there: I walked the loop last time with my 7 m.o. in the stroller, and she slept nearly the entire time. How many other networking events can you bring your kiddos AND get a nap in, to boot!?

    Bring on the stroller brigade!

Karrie and Shannon: I'm pleased to see you both sign up for a return engagement.

And, as you said Shannon, this is a kid friendly event. Pets are welcome too; we had one well behaved and friendly black lab(?) last time.

Tyler: I'm going to try to figure out some task for you that is the equivalent of the workout you subject me too. NOT. I'm glad you're signed up. Are you bringing a friend?

Ann: I look forward to meeting another neighbor. I have family in the UK; so, it will be good to compare notes with you.

Maybe Tyler could do a little somethin-somethin to get us started like Karen Lindenberg does for us on the Volunteer Park walks on Cap Hill. A little meditation or stretching or something easy and relaxed to get us all present and ready to walk and talk. Just a thought. Could be a great way for Tyler to showcase his stuff.

Great idea, Karrie. I've sent Tyler a message. Ball to you, Tyler.

    Hello,

I would most definitely would love to do that for us before our walks and look forward to attending frequently and getting to know all you folks, but I'm going to have to miss this one!

    I know, I know!

I signed up completely forgetting that I am heading out of town for a camping trip on Lake Eaton from on the 1st!

I'll be seeing all of you on the next round. And it's going to be FUN. Just as FUN as John's workouts.

Brenda: I'm happy to see that you are coming back for more.

Dave: This is an entirely new venue for us to work in. Much more relaxed than a conference or the State Legislature.

Sorry, gang, but I now have a client scheduled for Friday a.m. Too bad because Friday is supposed to be sunny and gorgeous, just the opposite of our last WnT. Hope to catch you all next time!

This was a great morning for a walk around Seward Park and I thoroughly enjoyed my walk, conversations and meeting new people.

Thank you John, for organizing it.
