Seattle Community

Event description

If the weather is good, we will meet outside.

Because we will be meeting around a round table or a long table in a public venue (it would have cost $150 to rent a private space and increased the cost to $40 a person) and speaking out loud will be difficult due to the general noise level, introductions will be done a bit differently.

Each person will need to go through the serving line for each course (appetizer/soup, salad, entree, and dessert) then sit down, introduce yourself to the folks immediately around you and then move on and on and on with each successive course. This will allow everyone a chance to meet with other attendees with a bit more intimacy and privacy and quiet.

If the weather isn't so great, I'll try to secure a table on the far north wall in the upstairs ballrooms. Look for our Biznik badges and table decoration. When you purchase your meal at the entrance, let them know that you are meeting me. I will let them know where we will be meeting depending on the weather.

There is plenty of parking in the neighborhood for up to two hours if you go about one to two blocks north and nearby parking lots. You can also look at this list.

Your meal cost is $15 and people bus their own tables. This is a place I go to every year to catch up with my friends.

In accordance with the facility's rules, please do not bring ANY outside food or beverage to the facility.

Oh and yes, here is the Biznik version of the four questions:

Why is being in business for ourselves different from all other businesses?

Why is it that when we attend conferences and go out with clients that we think about what we are doing money and time wise and didn't when someone else was paying?

Why is it that we accept the bitterness and sweetness of our self employed freedom?

Why is it that on the work we do for others in our own business, we check our work twice but when we were overworked for others, we only checked our work once?

Keith. I absolutely love the 4 questions you have posed. Unfortunately I cannot make the seder lunch tomorrow but it sounds really like a great event and hope you will do it again next year.

What a great idea! I'm teaching a GO System Seminar on the 24th so I won't be able to make it, but I'll watch for this event next year as well.

    Keith,

I'm adding my vote for the next time. If I hadn't already scheduled a lunch meeting, I would have signed up for this. I live in the middle of the largest Jewish community in Seattle and I'm woefully uneducated about my neighbors.
