Event description
Due to the great response of my Good News and Frozen Custard Happy Hour events, I created this more structure event that still has a light-hearted spin and will also be held at what is quickly becoming many Bizniks’ new, favorite spot – Peaks Frozen Custard. What better way to get in touch with your inner kindergartener (and welcome in summer) than in a venue that specializes in frozen treats that are even better than ice cream? Besides, it seems like everyone is in need of some light-hearted, business tactics these days!
We’ll take the principals of Robert Fulgham’s bestseller “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten”, and I few things I've learned along the way, and apply them to life as an entrepreneur. This will be a fun and interactive event and you might even earn a gold star for good behavior. ;0) I’ve spent my entire career around little people and learned quickly that they often had more to teach me than I had to teach them, so let’s have some fun and get back to those basic joys of life and figure out how we can apply them to our businesses. As Fulgham states in the book, “It is not simple. It is elemental.”
Homework: (I'm a teacher...I can't resist!) Please bring one or two photos of your much younger self (kindergarten age or a little younger or older) and give some thought to what trait of your younger self you need to infuse into your business. We are going to use these as an ice breaker/introductory activity, and we'll pass them around, so please bring the photo(s) in a format you're comfortable with others handling (i.e. in a frame or photo sleeve if need be).
Also, please be sure to update your RSVP if your plans change and you can't join us.
This event will be held at Peaks, Seattle’s first frozen custard shop. Peaks opened just a few months ago and is owned by two indie entrepreneurs and former Wisconsinites who serve up a variety of tasty goodies including baked goods, great coffee, coffee and custard combos, an environmentally-friendly business and lots of good karma. Treats and coffee start at about $3.00...the typical coffee and snack rates. Peaks also serves quiche and salads, so if you can also grab lunch at the event along with your coffee and/or snack. Frozen custard flavors that day will be Chocolate, Vanilla and Fresh Berry Crisp - homemade fresh berry crisp made with fresh, local berries and mixed with vanilla custard.

Is this open to non bizniks :0)
You know I am one of your biggest fans.
Have a great week.

Jodi, The time is listed at the top of the description...12:30 to 2:30.
Allen, you made me laugh. That "drop in" at the last event was filled with kindergarten energy, wasn't she? Honestly, I kind of enjoyed her craziness at the last event but she would be quite a handful at this one. I'd have to put her on a time out at the Peaks kiddy table....outside!
Glad to hear you are one of my biggest fans and will be in attendance for this event, too! :0)

I have to have a meeting with clients at 2:30. Will my bailing out at 2 mess up your design for the event? If so, I will yield my position to Mr. Berkey.

David, please join us. There's always room for you, my friend! ;0)
John, (loved the Bogie accent in your direct email), please join us and just leave when you need to. A little bit of John Hays at any event is better than no John Hays! :0)

Who knew so much could be drawn from the Kindergarten principles?! This was a creative concept and much fun. This was just my second Biznik event and so far, I love going! Despite its lightheartedness, I also got a lot out of the event and will take it to my work. Speaking of which, I should get back to it...(=

A little late, but now posted. Some people were interested in the lockable PDF magazine technology. ReleVant360 has a very inexpensive service that creates "E-Zines", magazines for online use. Pages can be flipped, like a printed magazine, with a click. Also, pages are locked. For more info, go to: http://colorprint360.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=21_22&products_id=113 . If you register, use my number: 09RD0111.
Also available are very inexpensive print rates for SMB's. Register (use my number) and check them out. ~David

Thank you for this event!
Great preparation, questions and opportunity to receive insights from all participants. Every virgin entrepreneur, and even veterans, could well benefit from having a presentation such as this.
It brings the topic of core values in business into clearer focus in a simple yet poignant manner.
Thanks again!
Kind Regards, Jane Bakken
