Event description

Hey, L.A.!

Did you know there are actual, in-person, real-life meetups that happen outside of Seattle? Well, there are! Like this one!

We've been gathering a little group to rub brain cells together, network and generally enjoy each others' company. We talk, we eat, we drink...occasionally, I bust out a camera (don't worry: you don't have to participate in that part of things.)

Join us! Bring your iPhone or crackberry if you can't bear to be away from the email for an hour or so, but bring yourself. If it's warm enough, we'll be in the wide, open air, enjoying the sun setting over the Marina. (Well, okay—the Marina shopping center.) If not, we get the covered side patio to ourselves--big ol' heat lamps, plenty o' room.

There is NO CHARGE to attend; just buy a drink or snack and Mike, our cruise director at Jerry's, will be happy to keep hosting. Bring small bills, in case we have to double up on checks. And a jacket; weather can be weird this time of year.

Colleen will be the short one with the glasses, the name tag and the big, stupid grin. Heather will be the slightly taller one with the glasses, the name tag and a stylish outfit of some type. We can't wait to meet you!

DOWN AND DIRTY DEETS:

  • FREE! (but we like to buy a SMALL thing each...respect!)
  • bring small bills! (we split the check)
  • freeway-friendly (right off the 90!)
  • free parking (and plenty of it!)
  • we're on the side patio
  • did we mention we'd love to meet you? WE WOULD!

I am IN. If you are on the fence and reading this comment--gitty up and click that green button to rsvp. These biznik mixers rock! I met three new folks who I truly connected with last time. Doooo it! See you there.

I haven't explored this on-Line community much yet. I may need a real person to be a guide.

fantastic, it will be great to catch up with you dyana! mark, don't worry, we'll give you the in-person intro. online communities are nothing to fear, though they do get better with a little in-person reinforcements.

Hooray for a flurry of rezzies!

Dy, as always, it will be great to get an infusion of Valentine. (For those who have yet to experience it, that's reason alone to come out!)

And Mark, Heather's exactly right: we're all friendly, and meeting offline makes online stuff easier (and vice versa).

I'm late to RSVP (like, gotta hop in the car in 20 minutes to make it to the event on time), but was late deciding to come too! :) See y'all shortly. Thanks, Colleen, for putting this together! XO

What a GREAT night! We talked about obsessions, indie filmmaking, showing up, charades, retro airline design, mentoring and the list goes on. I look forward to connecting with you more. Photos of the night should be posted soon.

Please friend me here on biznik (since most of us have basic memberships, if we friend three others and they friend three others, etc. we should all be connected within a day or so.

Thanks, too, for the interest in my workshop this Sunday, here's the link: http://www.meetup.com/LA-Freelance/calendar/10255871/ and to the video I made during tonight's event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkBzlXCeQ3E

    Have a great night!

Sorry I couldn't make it tonight. Had to wait in line for my Tamiflu. There were other reasons I missed as well. I always reach for the pandemic excuse when it is handy though.

Love the video, Dyana, I wish I were on the other side of the country to attend last night. But I'm glad you got yourself out of the house to do so.

    See you soon! ilise
