The Biznik way of networking is a powerful combination of online social networking technology paired with face-to-face events. Learn from Portland-Area Biznik Ambassador, Tshombe Brown about how to grow your business faster and become more profitable by using the tools at your disposal.
Way beyond traditional networking, the collaborative power of Biznik can provide you and your business with valuable
- clients/customers
- collaborators/partners
- resources, assistance, education
- emotional/psychological support
In this workshop, we'll walk through the 6 main areas of the site, elaborate on the features as they were designed, and how to use them:
- Your Profile: self promotion & visibility on the site
- Events: hosting & attending
- Membership: using the directory & your Biznik network
- Biz Talk: online socializing & discussions
- Articles & Tips: writing, rating & commenting
- Groups: creating your own personal online/off-line Biznik "Tribe"
We'll begin with a brief history of Biznik and take a look at the power
of social networking in marketing yourself and your business today.
Each of you will also have opportunity to connect with one
another and, of course, your questions are welcome!
Feel free to bring your wi-fi enabled laptop to follow along with, if
you wish. This is not required, as I will be projecting onto
the screen my own laptop screen.
NOTE:
There is no charge for this educational event.
However, there is a suggested $5 donation to help defray the
cost of the facility.

Yes, there is free parking at this location. It is limited, but there are quite a number of spaces. It's in a neighborhood, so there is also parking on the street.

Hi Jacke -- Why don't you have Mariah create a Biznik profile?
Have her join through your link, which is http://biznik.com/join/jacke-schroeder. When she signs up, Biznik will automatically add her as a "connection" in your "network" of people you invited to Biznik.
An added benefit is that Mariah will create more SEO exposure for your business, including potentially more traffic to your website.

Hi Dotty! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and received great content.
I might suggest that you send me or Dan and Lara a preview copy so we can offer feedback or suggestions.
Also, you might post the finished video on your profile or possibly connect or collaborate with Lara about including it in the projects they already have underway. In fact, you might run your video tutorial idea by Lara as a possible win-win collaboration between you and Biznik.

And as a public speaking instructor, I also wish to compliment to your handling the many problems arising during the meeting. You lost lighting, the slideshow had problems resulting and you even lost the internet connection. Despite these, you not only retained a cool and professional demeanor, your presentation made such problems seem insignificant.

Well worth it! I was scheduled tight and glad I didn't just cancel attending this event. I learned how brilliant I am for being a ProVIP member and how it creates more exposure for my business. Tshombe, I also wanted to commend you on the way you handled the lights and other technical difficulties.
I don't know how often Lara and Dan make it to the PDX events but it was great to see them there and a great opportunity for us to get answers straight from the co-founders.

I came away feeling energized and juiced to 1) get my profile updated 2) run an event 3) commit to really applying the knowledge I gained about biznik an how it works. Tshombe was a great facilitator. Really informative patient and encouraging.

I would have loved to hear more about other people's success stories. What happened after they published articles? How did their networks change after they attended more meetup events? Biznik clearly is helping a lot of small businesses and I look forward to learning more.
