Event description

Join us whether you have read Guy's newest book, plan to, or just want to hear more on what it is about. Guy Kawasaki, Apple's first "evangelist" writes a book about every three years. He says it exhausts him - and this one should because it is 473 pages long.

This is a mere sampling of the book's topics:

How to get a standing ovation The art of schmoozing How to create a community The top ten lies of entrepreneurs

We will focus on the chapters and concepts that are most pertinent to us, the small business owner - and will be sure to cover mantras, raising money, marketing, communication, selling, and innovation.

Who better to kick off this new monthly book review than the ever evolving Guy Kawasaki. My favorite part of the book is called, "The Reality of Doing Good" and includes social entrepreneurship.

I get in at midnight the night before from my Thanksgiving trip to see Mom in Virginia, but this sounds too good to miss. Thanks, Lori, for setting this up. I look forward to learning more about this author and from each other, as ususal.

    Blessings, Meredith

Why only 8 spots? This guy sounds like a standing room only speaker! Looking forward to it :-)

Meredith, it should be an uplifting get together, that is my intention - to help with creating an inspirational environment to build business.

Ritama, we will all be the speakers - Guy will only be there through the book, but his voice really comes through!

Hi, Lori, I have an important meeting that has arisen on Monday. I wish I could be in two places at once! I know this will be a good gathering if you're leading it.

    See you soon, Cheers! Meredith

I'm in PDX so will miss this obviously, but hoping you'll take notes. Anything by Kawasaki is worth his weight in gold.

It was great to get to discuss the book Reality Check - this guy writes some interesting and highly practical stuff. He has an attitude, and it is rather refreshing to me. The best part is that he writes in headers and pieces, so you can skim it and get good quality content.

He has been there and done that around fast, quick startup companies. So it is good for understanding the nimbleness and street smart information you need to succeed.

I went out and bought it right afterwards for it has some terrific common sense stuff in it. Plus I also picked up the book Tribes that Seth Godwin wrote.

Thanks, Lori...it was a good event and solid info.

Joy - thanks for attending. It is always fun to go over and review a good solid book.

Am looking for suggestions for next month.
