Event description

You've heard it, folks: Walk & Talks are hipper than hip. Even hipper than riding your fixed-gear bike. Seriously.

Come and enjoy some quality time with one another in the great out-of-doors we city-folk call Volunteer Park. If you haven't tried a Walk & Talk, it's a great opportunity to meet your Biznik neighbors and to spend some much-needed time away from your computers. You'd be amazed at how many great ideas and thoughts you might have when you step away, breathe in some outdoor air and have a (<gasp>) face-to-face conversation with someone.

I'm hosting this one in honor of Karrie Kohlhaas, as she'll be out & about traveling in Austin. Never fear, Karrie - we'll keep the dream alive while you're out gallivanting in Tay-has. :)

So in honor of Karrie, please have your devices turned off. The focus is on face-to-face connection and being aware of our surroundings--not taking calls and please, try to resist tweeting as you go. As cool as Twitter is, it's not always safe to tweet and walk.

Meet at the Black Sun in Volunteer Park (the big donut-like sculpture across from the Asian Art Museum--pictured on the Capitol Hill Group page). We'll depart for our walk 'round 9:05, so please try not to be late.

Don't dress to impress--comfortable shoes and warm clothes are what these Walk and Talks are all about.

Rain, sleet, snow or shine - we'll be there.

Interested in other Walk & Talks? Check out the group page to see what other events are going on in your neighborhood! Better yet, host a walk & talk near you so that you don't have to drive in order to walk! :)

Hey Susan, to post to another group, just choose "Associated Groups" on the right sidebar of the event you are hosting. You can add the event to any group you are a member of, as long as the admin for that group approves it. You don't want to actually re-post it. You want to cross post.

I know you probably figured that out, but I am writing this partly to clear up any confusion for others who want to host events and post them to multiple groups.
