Brenda, this looks like an excellent starter event for someone looking into QuickBooks!

Intuit has recently attempted to force upgrades by taking away the ability for me to email invoices. I will never buy another QuickBooks or Intuit product - ever.

Quickbooks is certainly a great tool. Will you focus on Merchant Services thru Quickbooks? I hear that it has not been the best solution for some merchants, due to the costs on cards and the companies they partner with to get the work done. Too many hands in the cookie jar?

Joe, I have not had that problem I continue to e-mail my invoices. After 3 years it is a good idea to update they stop supporting the older versions.

Gwen, I love using the Merchant Services thru QuickBooks. In many situations it has made reconciling the bank account of a merchant accepting creditcards much easier, and you don't have to process the transaction in two places. Just enter in QuickBooks and your good. There is even a button that you can press to see if the creditcard transactions have funded before you show the funds as a deposit to your bank account.

I have not used this feature with a webbased business so would have to try it out prior to using it. Part of the problem is usually related to makeing sure everything integrates when initally setting up a web page.

I believe the merchant services is great for those with a small to medium volume of transactions where each sales needs to be posted to QuickBooks individually, and the rates are decent for those doing a small to medium $ amount per month. If a business is processing over $30,000 per month they might find a discount rate that is different enough to warrant the extra work of double entry that is required with providers outside of Quickbooks. I can get customers discounts on the merchant services so please contact me and we can discuss your specific needs.
