Event description

Let's gather for a TGIF event and enjoy a great networking opportunity while partaking of "Happy Hour" food and beverages. Stir into the mix an opportunity to learn about The Sharehouse a non-profit agency that collects usable furniture and household goods and recycles these items free of charge to individuals and families who are making the transition from homelessness to permanent housing.

In my business of home staging and interior redesign I have the privilege of assisting home owners in transforming their homes into warm, inviting and memorable spaces. But I am not always conscious of the 8,400 people on any given night who are homeless. So I have partnered with The Sharehouse to do what I can to support their efforts and I hope you will too. I have pledged to match dollar for dollar all financial donations made the day of the event.

Those of you who are in the business of selling homes, home repair, moving people in transition all know how important a home can be to one's self esteem, self confidence and feeling of belonging. The Sharehouse furnishes approximately 2,000 new established homes each year. I hope you will consider volunteering, donating time, money and/or goods in support of this fine non-profit agency especially since they are solely responsible for their own funding. The next Sharehouse fund raising benefit sale will be Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 10 am to 4 pm at The Sharehouse (5706 Second Ave S). I will be providing flyers and leaflets that will help you choose a way of helping that feels right for you.

I'm working up the street at SPACE Design Center until 5 so I can't make it until the tail end.

The Sharehouse helps furnish homes of people transitioning out of homelessness. Consider donating the home furnishings from your client's projects when they are switching stuff out. AND, If you ever have build materials from projects, you can donate those to the Habit for Humanity Outlet in SODO.

Thanks for hosting this great event Marlene and for supporting people transitioning out of homelessness.

    Blessings,

Amy, Thanks for your support. I extended the end time to 6pm so if others are having difficulty getting there right at 4pm as well.

I look forward to seeing you on Friday!

Oye - I have to take the foster kittens in to the shelter after work tonite so they can get adopted this weekend.

By the time I do that, I'll miss meeting up with you. :(

    bwaa!

I didn't know at the time I RSVP'd that I'd need to be doing this. If it works out with coverage at SPACE to take them in earlier, I will so I can come play with you.

In the meantime, I'm going to cancel my RSVP so I don't get marked as a no-show ;)
