Event description

This is a more structured and focused event than the average networking mingle.

It is specifically designed to create solid leads, resources and connections that will enable you to move forward in your business and the places you need help or are stuck.

The way that this event works is pretty simple:

You ask others:

  1. What do you need?
  2. Where are you stuck in your business?
  3. Who would you like to meet?

Your job is to listen attentively so that you may really understand what they are dealing with.

Then you do these 2 things:

  1. consider your own resources and you give them what you can to help them.
  2. find attendees that may also further them in their goals

The other attendees will also be doing this for you.

So you will also have to know the answers to the above questions.

Be ready to think, consider and most of all LISTEN to others. Also be ready to be Understood and Listened to as well.

We help ourselves when we help others!

This is a great event for business people of all sorts. We all have resources that we can share that will help others. This is also a great non-distracting, non-alcoholic networking event that will really make you think and consider your own business as well as the businesses of others around you.

I invite you to participate with an open mind and a giving attitude. You will have the opportunity receive help that is levels higher beyond the normal networking event. You might even surprise yourself with how many resources you already have when you think of helping others.

Come Join us!

(further and more detailed explanation of structure and event flow will be covered when we all get together. Feel free to contact the host for more questions)

This is a wonderful concept that opens up amazing possibilities for people. Each of us are connected to a wealth of resources and when we get together magic happens. I can't wait for this event! :)

This sounds awesome, Sierra! The typical networking event goes by so fast (you get your minute then the next person is UP!) that I usually feel like so much more help could be given each person if we could take a chance to really listen, focus, search our own resources and connections to see how to help them.

Thursday eves... I'm usually home with daughter, I'll have to see what that week looks like when it approaches. (Then again, she's 15, maybe I'll just abandon her for the night!)

I have a plan to continue doing this type of event. It must be successful first. An obvious creator of opportunities, is my intention for the event.

I want to listen to others as much as I can.

So many of us don't realize we know so many people. I think we get stuck in these places in life or in our heads or in business that just keep us from seeing just how much we have at our fingertips.

People who are close and intimate with us on a regular basis are also wealths of information to be tapped.

I think the name of the game is "the art of follow up" the way this sort of event will really get pulled off is if all attendees have a good level of follow thru with helping someone else.

I do not know what I might be able to do or how to facilitate something that inspires others to do follow up. Perhaps there will be a basic "how to" on follow thru and follow up.

Following up is really natural when a deep and interesting connection is made. This basic concept can be pondered and I believe it would change the way a group networked with each other.

It is easy to recieve form others, if for a moment you forget about yourself. Just to be in the spirit of giving frees you up for others to give to you.

    So right, jacob!

The basic truth to this is "Give, what you seek to receive."

and I know, for me, it's important for others to give to me and for the universe to give to me. SO I start that wheel of fortune by giving my time, attention, talent and resources.

LIstening closely and then allowing the answers to be revealed... with an inspired thought, with the flow of a good, connected conversation; the answers always come in time.

    :)

    Oh Yeah...

I think most of these Networking Events people go in thinking "I need, what can I get", How about we try for awhile, "How can I give, Helping you IS helping me." If we all agreed to do this, things would flow so much quicker.

To achieve the Balance of Give and Take. 50%-50%.

I agree, jacob - I boil it down to this:

I know people, I know stuff... I can't help you and no one I know off hand can help you... I ask others if they know how to help you

All I have to do is listen and pay attention to what people are saying they need.

I'm so excited for this event, Sierra!

This is my ENTIRE strategy for life/business coaching.

Simply ask: What do you need?

Many people really don't know what they need until they declare it! AND it's a great experience to be on the receiving end of their answer.

    See you soon!!

I apologize for the No-Show, right before I came in I got a call from a client who is involved in a massive negotiation tomorrow and by the time the call was done the event was 3/4 over. Hoping to catch next time.

Thank you Sierra for a great event.

And, to reassure Art, the space was very comfortable for the 40 or so folks gathered there. I think you accomplished the intention and many people were helped. I was.

    Sierra,

This event had a successful first-time go around! Thank you again for putting this together. It was a pleasure meeting everyone and learning more about their businesses and identifying how I could help them out.

This events success calls for another! Who's with me?
