Event description

Are you wondering how to:

  • Increase response rates?
  • Decide on paper vs. Web vs. phone?
  • Limit respondents to one answer?
  • Choose a Web survey service?
  • Phrase a question?
  • Pick one answer scale over another?
  • Fix an inherited project?
  • Analyze a bit of data?
  • Incorporate outside data such as order histories?

We’ll start by running through the types of surveys everyone is conducting, your 30 second research resume, and where you have questions to see where we want to focus the most discussion time.

As we talk, a picture tells a thousand words, so...

Want some direct feedback on your survey? If you’re willing to share it with the group, just send the DOC/PDF/URL to me at least a day in advance. Assuming it’s a fit, I’ll bring copies to the session (and only this session). And no worries if everyone is at the planning stage or has confidential projects--I still have my general example files and will bring a favorite or two for illustration.

Hi all, just a heads-up that Mosaic had a little holiday timing issue with Ash Wednesday and notified me yesterday that they're closing at 5:00 on the 25th. As a temporary measure, I asked them to shift our reservation up to 3:30, but will be calling the Ballard and Greenwood libraries as soon as they open today at 1:00--then any other locations I (and BizTalk :-) can think of after that to see if I can find an alternate room at the original time in the same general area.

Time officially changed to 3:30-5:00 for anyone who peeked at the original time but hadn't signed up. I'll be hanging out early as well.

Thank you Ann for taking a personalized approach to this event ... I know we didn't have time to cover everything outlined in detail, but I can easily see this becoming a series - as you touched on deciding what type of survey would best suit our needs and all the questions/discussion shows there is a lot to really think about besides just what to ask.

I appreciate your time and look forward to future events to further pick your brain!

Yes, I'll have to see where the balance falls between pure Q&A and structured info like the little handout I brought. If it becomes a routine event, I may pick a focus topic for a portion of the time.

But I'm so glad v1.0 helped you Leslie!
