Event description

Walk, talk and enjoy Bellevue's downtown park, directly south of Bellevue Square. The circular, gravel-covered track is wide, flat and goes round and round so you can focus on meeting, greeting and chatting.

The city's Web site says, this "20-acre oasis of green in the heart of Bellevue is an elegant centerpiece of the Bellevue Parks System. A one-half mile promenade, bordered by a double row of shade trees, and a stepped canal, brings one to the 240-foot wide waterfall that cascades into a reflecting pond."

Meet-up location: At the north end of the park, there is a fountain at the top of the steps between the park and Bellevue Square. We will meet there.

Late Arrivals: If you're about 10 to 30 minutes late, then walk around the circle clockwise (like the hands on your watch). You'll see us walking towards you within a few minutes because the track is a circle. Look for me. (Trust me, this will work.)

Weather: Rain or shine. Studies prove you can get plenty of healthy, mood-lifting, natural daylight even on overcast days and the fresh air is worth it. Bring an umbrella or rain jacket if needed. Fear not a little drizzle.

Directions: From I-405, take the NE 8th Street exit going west. Turn left on Bellevue Way, turn right on NE 2nd Street, then turn right into the south parking lots or continue on and turn right on 100th Avenue NE for the west parking lot.

From I-90, take the Bellevue Way exit going north. Turn left on NE 2nd Street, then turn right into the south parking lots or continue on and turn right on 100th Avenue NE for the west parking lot.

Parking: Parking lot for the Downtown Park is on the park's south side and the park's west side. Also, parking is available at Bellevue Square, although the officials prefer you to buy something, anything, to justify putting your car there.

Bus: Plenty of direct buses from many cities. Check the Metro Tripplaner Web site for details.

Greetings! It looks like we are going to be blessed with some great weather -- mostly sunny, but crisp. I look forward to seeing everyone. If you have any questions about the meet-up point or anything else, let me know. Best, Jenny Z writer / journalist

I really need the exercise! I used to walk regularly at the park, but it has been awhile since I was there. Look forward to a nice walk and talk.
