Event description

BizChatz is when two or more gather for a friendly conversation about business and all agree to share Lessons Learned. We share our challenges and discuss potential solutions with our peers.

====================================

You can read and study about business operations, but you can only gain knowledge by experiencing it. This is a place to share our experiences.

It is a wise person that can learn from others mistakes rather than make their own. You can save time and money by interacting with mentors and entrepreneurs that are traveling the same path you are on.

This Meeting is held at The Arboretum Starbucks from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

The topic of discussion is determined by those in attendance, which is limited to a small effective group.

Special Thanks to Howard Howell for creating this format and letting us use it.

Hey just double checking.... Do you mean the Starbucks in Barns and Nobels in the Arboretum or the Starbucks on Great Hills across for them Renaissance Hotel.... Always get to the wrong location if i try to get to a meeting there :-)

Updated: Ups... just saw the address under the map.... so the one we meet at is the one on Great Hills, corret?

Yes, the one on Great Hills! Thanks for being the first RSVP! I never thought I'd jump into hosting an event so soon! But I'm pretty fired up about getting things started!

Hey Dave... thanks for getting the ball rolling! My office is in east Austin, but if my schedule allows, I'll try to make it. If I can't make it Thursday, let's set up a time to get together. I live near the Arboretum, so we could meet at this SB at another time.

Hi Dave, I can't attend this one but thanks for getting things going again in Austin. I'll look forward to the next step.

I truly would love to attend but I am busy this Thursday. I have an interesting topic for discussion I would like to explore and I am going to send a couple of messages to some folks who may be able to address it for me.

Not to worry, this will likely become a weekly event just like Howard does it in Seattle. I just need to find the best time/date/location combination.

Dave... It's great to see you and Karrie getting a community going in Austin.

If your members want some out of town inter-connections, please invite them tojoin the Biznik group of Entrepreneurial Junkies where we will be having a weekly BizChatz Online Webinar with invited guests to share Business Experience.

We will not limit our guest spots to just Seattle area Bizniks.

As we all get to know each other better, there may be some new synergy. You never know, unless you put it out there.

Best of luck with your Austin BizChatz.

    ...Howard

Yes, it's wonderful to see Austin taking to biznik and biznik taking to Austin. A great combo.

David, I suggest you host your events at several spots around town. I would not recommend trying to nail down one day and time as that will always limit who can come. If you keep the events posting regularly and vary the locations and meeting times, you will pick up new folks who could not come to one of the others.

You may even want to go ahead and post 2, 3, 4, or even 5 events at a time (for events that occur over the course of the next few weeks or months) and have them on the calendar for people to check out and pick from so there isn't just a single option when they periodically look at the biznik events pages for Austin.

    One more thought:

I do hope all of you will take a look at the various groups on the Groups pages and join some! Groups are a great way to build connections locally and globally. There are many and more everyday.

As we discussed at the Austin event I hosted last week, at the paid membership levels, you can create your own groups. We also discussed strategies for this.

Some people might just have a shared interest like cats or painting and others might use the group they create to build a community around their business. Either way, it will lead to more connections, friends, colleagues, community and potentially clients.

Thank you everyone who came and participated in the event! I'm still getting a feel for these things, bit I know I'll get better and improve my meeting attendance and planning skills!
