Event description

I know you are out there....all you wonderful Biznikers that love this forum as much as the rest of us. This event is a plea for collaboration among us. Whatcom, Island and Skagit County are in desperate need of Biznik events!

This event is an open discussion for all Biznik members from Whatcom, Island and Skagit County. If you meet any of these criteria, please come and lend your expertise:

  1. You are a Biznik Member or want to be one.
  2. You plan on attending Biznik events in the future.
  3. You would like to host a Biznik event someday.
  4. You would like to provide a venue space for an event.
  5. You would be willing to co-host an event.
  6. You have great event ideas but don't want to host them.

Location is Bellis Fair Mall in the center of the food court. Food and drink is available for purchase at any of the open concessions at the food court. We will be openly networking the first thirty minutes to allow time for people to arrive and get settled with their drinks and beverages. Promptly at 6:00pm we will open discussion about how we can all colaborate to create more events for all of us to attend. We will be matching people who want to host events with people who want to offer venues. We will be matching people with event ideas with people who are willing to head it up.

We will have a quick questionnaire for you to fill out to help this process along. Please take time before you come to brainstorm some event ideas.

Great idea! Lynne Brisdon, Susan Templeton, and I have something in the works (if we can just find time to work on planning it!) and we are looking for a venue! I also know you and I have talked about a couple things too, Trina, so this should yield some fun ideas. Looking forward to another great Biznik event!

I take my dad every month (first Wed.) to the coast guard in Seattle - so I will miss - but you know I'll be there in spirit and have many ideas - perhaps I can meet with some or one or two of you ahead and share some of the things I'm thinking about and what I have been seeing in events in Seattle.

    great initiative, Trina!!

Want to take a step forward with Biznik. I'd like to co-host an event. Got lots of ideas. Hope to network with all of you. How can I help get more people at your kickstart meeting for the fall?

I don't know if I will be able to attend this event or not but would like to say I would like to see more events that are similar to the seattle events. Ex: Wordpress workshops, web site SEO work shops, having different trades people do workshops ...I guess I am looking for more "training" type events. I like social events as much as the next person but it seems like we have more social events not so many teaching type events.

Thanks Bliss! I would love it if you could attend but I understand how tight schedules can be. Thanks for the input. I'll add that to my notes.

Thanks ladies for all the fabulous input tonight at the event. If we do even half of the things we talked about we will have some great events planned for our biznik community.

As a reminder, don't forget to send me your email with the list of events that you are interested in doing, venue suggestions etc. I will organize a group on Biznik per your suggestions for us to all stay connected and accountable.

Lori I know you are getting ready to travel a lot next year so you are excused but I challenge each of you other ladies to do one event a month. Take time between Christmas and New Year and plan out what you would like to do each month. (If you need help thinking it through or planning, just send me an email I would be happy to help you).

Here is to happy event planning and lots of fun events in the future!

Trina, you brought one of your strengths forward - your organizing strength -- and I loved how we all had ten-fold the amount of ideas as we might have had

Anyone who didn't make it is still welcome to bring their ideas forward. I love your suggestion of going through your Biznik connections and finding something you like about that person - then thinking of an event you can do with them on that area. Great thinking.

Our community will grow only through multiple folks stepping up and helping "own" it here locally. I also challenge everyone to think of ways to get more local entrepreneurs involved.

    thanks!!

It was great fun, and a really productive brainstorming session. As soon as I clear a couple things off my to do list, I'll start working on my recurring event that I described last night.
