Event description

From flip flops to high heels, put on your most festive threads and join Matt, Dan, Lara and Giannina at Gasworks Gallery and Matt's private art studio, for the "Festive Wine and Cheese Network Party"!

This is a FREE private Biznik event sponsored by Gasworks Gallery! As always, there will be lots of food, bottled water, imported wine and cheese, complements of the Gallery! We welcome your generous gifts of wine and cheese to spice up the selection. The more, the merrier!

Connect with new and old Biznik friends and groove to a fabulous mix of multi-generational rock and roll! Come and help us celebrate the delivery of nearly a million pounds of spuds to Northwest Harvest! Visit the MashedPotatoes.org website for details on this wonderful grassroots hunger awareness organization, supported by Gasworks Gallery.

Imagine for a moment, you have been invited to your friend's eccentric rich uncle's wedding reception. It's a beautiful summer evening, in a small California beach town and you are surrounded by his crazy friends and family. Knowing that the other guests will be dressed in everything from casual beach wear to cocktail dresses and tuxedos, what festive attire will you be wearing?

Your family or friends are welcome. Bring your biggest smile and let's have fun!

THANKS!

Looks way fun...count me in for next time. Unfortunately I can't make this one...will be at the annual auction for the Swedish Cultural Center (but I will be festively attired in vintage cruise ship finery so I'll be with you all in spirit.) One of the auction items is a Tea for Ten - a Vintage Frederick & Nelson Tearoom Experience that my friend Julie and I are donating - we'll be looking for models for the vintage fashion show if anyone is interested!

For any of you that don't know, the blue Gasworks Gallery building has a great vibe, plenty of history and charm, and an outstanding sound system for full on party music! Thank you MATT! I've been a resident artist there for years and will be glad to see Biznik the networking magic in action! Posted by Sierra Faye Kennedy LMP, Seattle, Washington | Feb 06, 2009

So we can wear outlandish costumes to this?

I think there should be some sort of business fashion chart.

When combining wine, networking, costumes, art and let's not forget the most important aspect: its on a Saturday.

    What qualifies as "appropriate dress?"

is there a "line" that can't be crossed because it is, indeed, a business networking event. where can risks be taken? how will they affect business?

    new terms: business/costume casual

    business/party conservative

    networking dress-up "fo-pah."

    hmmm..

what DO I pull out of the closet for this one?

.... Door prizes for best costume. mmm?

  • Lara Feltin
Posted by Lara Feltin, Seattle, Washington | Feb 06, 2009

Door prizes for the best costume! YES! I'll bring some Biznik swag.

Hey Amy! You're probably (1) the only person I didn't introduce myself to, and (2) one of 4 people I danced with (the last Romantics tune)... so don't you be goin' talkin' about no honky butts! Girl, I was THERE! And it was -- what does my son say? -- it KILLED! OH MY HECK! It was a great venue, good, energetic crowd, good to see that the finest of Wisconsin cheese was represented. The thing I liked the most is that you could go up to EVERYONE and just talk... no cliques. No groups. No wallflowers. Totally a new experience for me! Thanks again to all ... and Dan, when are you going to post your video(s)? I GOTTA get that vid of Amy and I -- what I like about YOU! (good thing this old guy didn't have a heart attack!) You're cracking me up David! :D

Yeah Dan, you're totally holding out the goods on us. I know there is some serious material you're holding hostage there. Talk about suspense.

For those of you NOT there, Dan was practically attached at the hip with that video camera. LOL! That hallway was great for some photographic moments for sure.

Still don't know why everyone was crammed in the back room later on whilst the entire front room was almost empty! Just made more space for us to dance. :P

    Biznik!
    What I like about YOU!
You really turn on the light
Teach us what we need to know
Fill our minds so we get it right
Keep on doing those things you do
Work for yourself and you won't be blue
    Cuz it's true
It's what I like about you!
