This should be fun, Elke. Thanks for posting the event and for giving me co-host status...as I am a newbie to this! Penny

Event description
For all creatives, and especially writers: We will participate in four timed FUN writing exercises designed to free up your wild writer. We'll then read our creations aloud to a non-judgmental audience. No critiquing allowed as we let our creative juices flow.
Bring a notebook or writing tablet and favorite pen. Work on your writing project, try out a different writing style, or just come and see what happens.
I see the opportunity to write without critique as a way to unblock writer's block, bring fresh perspectives and ideas to your writing projects, and enjoy other writers company in an open, relaxed atmosphere.
This will be a trial four week series for now, on Wednesday afternoons, 1:00 - 3:00. In order to reserve the cozy room at Espresso Buono to ourselves, it is suggested you buy a coffee house drink and some food to enjoy while you're writing!
If you enjoy this, or if this class is full, the other classes will be on Jan21, 28, and February 4.

Folks,
I have participated in a similar writing group for the last couple of years, and have found it to be so good for my writing and my soul!
I so look forward to writing in your cozy space, Penny.

Oh, I WISH I could free up the time for this. I can only imagine the creative energy that will be unleashed in that coffee house.
I'll be there in spirit, Elke and Penny.

Thank you Elke this looks fun, energizing and intimidating at the same time....are we sure there is no pressure? sould have a bit of stage fright-giggles.

NO pressure, no stage fright needed, because there is no stage! It's not about acting. It's about freedom to write whatever comes, freeing up the brain, and freeing ourselves from our self-criticial voice.
If it's critiquing someone wants, this is not their group!
Trust me as you would trust your own wisdom.

I'd love to come to this first one, Elke but will not be able to make the others. Will that be okay?
Jenn Getting Into Print
P.S. Thanks so much for being such a creative instigator!

No Problem, Jennifer.
This is a test run of this kind of process for business creatives. If it works out, I may just do this once a month or twice a month after the trial.
People can check into any one class of the four week trial they wish, since we will always do the same exercises (with different prompts or themes) Once you learn the process, it's easy to tuck in now and again.
Another idea: if you have a space near to where you live, and the interest of other creatives, I could set this up in other places.
After all this ice and snow, "you are free to move about the country", safely please.
cheers, Elke

One who unabashedly, unapologetically and with great abandon writes what one is thinking, feeling, wondering, dreaming, hoping, solving, experimenting with, enjoying and not enjoying without regard for "correctness", critiques, form, function or future transformations of the written product.

Elke and Penny,
I have cancelled my registration because of a conflict with a client phone call, and I hope to attend one of your other writing events. Penny, your definition is spot on. Thank you, both.

Hello everyone!
I am sorry I have not had the chance to email you all sooner. I just got in @ 2:30 AM from a very long day of airports, stalled airplanes on the tarmac, and very spotty email coverage. But despite lack of sleep, I wanted to try to send you a message anyway to say:
Welcome today!
Bring with you: A notebook or paper or journal. Your favorite pen or pencil. Some money for a beverage and snack if you so desire.
That’s it! I am assuming your right and left brain will come along for the ride. If you can arrive a bit earlier to order your drinks, etc. that will help us start on time. There are at least a couple of you with ferry schedules and childcare schedules and I want to honor that.
See you later!

This was an enormously helpful writing process. Elke is non judgemental while being very responsive - the perfect mix.
Thanks Elke for scheduling these workshops.

Did you ever see someone on the edge of doing something daring, frightening, almost terrifying? And there were people around, encouraging him (or her) to "go ahead, JUMP!"?
It was kinda like that ... and then these people -- deep within the safety of Penny's place, and led by Elke's kindness -- extended their hands, and we all jumped together. Yes, Elke, ich kom' mal wieder! Und ich danke Dir vielmals!
