Event description

This event is a discussion group to talk about the idea that god, the universe or a higher power being present and working with us in our businesses.

I want to know what people think about God/Spirit/Buddah/Zen/tao being a part of business either openly or as a personal practice that effects the business that they do.

I want to know if people think God-type-things have no place in the business world.

Should bigger business as well as small business bring in more enlightenment, spiritual practice, eduction or awareness?

What about praying CEO's?

Where is God in your business?

We will start out with the first 20 minutes or so of this event with getting settled, introduced and acquainted. First some light mingling and then we will settle in a circle-ish seating arrangement.

We will go around to every one and give VERY short intros: names and businesses.

The topic will be introduced and then we will brainstorm on the different sides of the topic we want to touch on as a group.

After we agree on a top 2-4 points to discuss, we will have a free-for-all discussion with some light monitoring. I will be hosting so I will mediate the discussion so no one talks too long, gives out digs and also check in with everyone to make sure every one is pretty much ok.

I am expecting to have some opinions come out. I want people to speak their truths and come from the heart with what they say.

There will be a limited number of people who can RSVP. Please come to this event if you are RSVP'd and, if you can, show up before the discussion starts or early on in the discussion.

I am excited to see who shows up!

    Wow Sierra,

This sounds wonderful. Dang! I have a conflict. I hope you'll have such a great response that you're motivated to host this again. At which point ... I'm there.

    Much success on your event.

    Regards, Judith

Sierra, Based on the response to my thread about the Bible in your business, I would think that you would have a great turn out. See you then.

I have a softball tournament that night otherwise I would definitely be there. What a great topic to bring up. I think this is something that a lot of people have on their minds but never bring up. I'm sure you will have a great turnout.

Sorry I can't attend. However, I'm always amazed that so many people leave their spirituality at the front door when they show up at work. I don't mean discussing their particular religion or practice at work but rather how they conduct their business and treat others. I've written a new book about this topic called The Enlightened Manager (amazon.com). Have a wonderful meeting!

Several of us are starting out at the Free Agent Happy Hour and merging over to Arcania for God in Business! Neat!

If anyone is interested in leaving cars at the first event and carpooling to Cap Hill for the second event, please call me. As we all know, parking on the hill can be less than pretty.

    Hi Folks!

I have to honor the space I am in tonight which is definitely not to be indoors and sitting, talking about God, which btw, I LOVE to do! Just not tonite.

I rarely back out of attending events I RSVP for so I hope everyone will pardon my cancellation. I don't feel like I can be a grounded presence tonite when my brain is in another space and I'm just too darn restless!

I look forward to another opportunity for this event. And just some input for the evening...

My spirituality is a way of existence for me. Work and that are not separate. The way I am with others and my way of being is woven by the beliefs I have and how I choose to live my life. To separate that makes no sense to me.

Have a lovely night everyone! Amy

I would dearly love to be at this event but it isn't possible at this time. I hope you can arrange to have one during the day too. I have been working on Spirit in business and this is the first time I've seen it except for Women's Business Exchange breakfast. Please do this again.
