Event description
You're over the hump of the work week. Come and enjoy some productive networking in a relaxed atmosphere with other Bizniks. Even the parking is pretty easy in Wallingford. Whether you're looking to make new business connections, reconnect with old ones, or bounce some new business ideas off other entrepreneurs, you'll enjoy the company and find it useful.
At this event, we would also like to remind everyone that there are others of the 4-legged variety out there who need our help. We are suggesting (but by no means requiring) that everyone who attends bring a donation for the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), such as canned or dry dog or cat food, hot dogs, cat litter, an so much more. A comprehensive wish list can be found on their website at http://www.paws.org/help/donate/wishlist.php. PAWS is a local agency that helps both domestic and wild animals. PAWS advocates for animals through education, legislation, and direct care.

Our wonderful dog, Vanna Gogh, passed away on Feb. 5th due to kidney complications. We adopted her at a Seattle shelter back in 2001, when she was 5 years old. We have been looking for a new family pet and were most impressed by the PAWS in Lynnwood. The living situation for the dogs is much better than you usually see, and the volunteers impressed me (I like Homeward Bound in Woodinville too).

Brian - sorry for your loss. It is not only hard on us when they pass but if you have another animal it is hard for them as well. We lost one ours few years back and our other dog was depressed for months until we got her a friend. I will check out the other place as well. Robert

I am part of a huge network of rescuers - if you don't find the right dog for you, contact me! I'm also a former PAWS staff member. Not sure if I can make the event (I will know sooner to the date), but it would be nice to meet other animal lovers!

My Golden was dying for so long. He was rescued by my son and I and had a bad hip but a great heart. So many hours I spent walking slowy, oh so slowly letting him smell the flowers on the Redmond Sammamish slough trail where I lived. In the summer he would lay against me as I read books on a blanket in Luke McRedmond Park. It was only at the end, that I truly realized he had stayed on earth for me, more than I had slowed my life down for him. Finally, it was time. And one week before my mother had heart surgeury we all transitioned him into doggy heaven and he slipped the realm of physicality into our hearts forever. One week later my mother died... on the surgeon's table... But her spirit too was strong and they brought her back. To this day, she swears that Rusty walked her back. To Brian, and all who attend this wonderful event... I will hoist my glass. Thank you.

I'm such a dog-nut. I don't have a dog right now myself, but live vicariously through my dog-owner friends. Of course I'll be there with gifts for our less-fortunate doggy alter-egos.

Robert,
I just heard about this event! Darn, I'm already busy. I love events that benifit animals. I am an animal communicator that volunteers my talents to animal shelters and rescue groups. Please let me know when you host another event of this type! Penelope Jensen
