Event description

Did you know the New York Biznik community has over 800 members? It's time to get away from the computer screen and meet some of them in person!

Join us for cocktails, networking, and socializing. Build your business through connections with other local entrepreneurs. And have fun getting to know other Biznik members.

The event is being held at In Good Company, a community workplace for dynamic, success-oriented women entrepreneurs. Their location, near the Flatiron Building on 23rd Street and Broadway, is a quick subway ride from anywhere in the five boroughs, and close to both Penn Station and Grand Central.

We're requesting a $5 donation at the door to cover expenses on beverages.

@Dan, Thanks for the global invite. This has brought out my competitive instincts--we want NYC to have the BEST Happy Hour and Mixer ever. :-)

    @Heather, welcome onboard!

@Daniel, no worries! We're just going to hang out and have a good time. Caroline and I are coming up with an ice breaker--a way for people to comfortably approach each other without having to jump into their elevator speeches--and there may be time for introductions to the whole group. But whatever format we settle on, the point is to have fun!

@Everyone, we're so glad you're all coming!! If you have any thoughts about making Friday the best it can be, please contact me at Jezra@JezraKaye.com, or through this thread.

    Best to all, Jezra

I had a great time too. It was the perfect combination of meeting new people and connecting back up with some old friends and clients. I especially loved the raffle: what a great idea to ask people to donate things/services to raffle off. Excellent marketing for everyone!

Can't wait til the next one. When is it?

I'm thrilled to hear the event went well. And that you're already coming up with innovative ways to do events. So, when IS the next one?

And speaking of innovative events...have you guys heard about the one we're doing on May 6? It's called SHINE: Tell Us Your Story. The Seattle Biznik community is making a big film about small business, composed of small entrepreneurs telling their stories.

The results will be a 3-5 min clip they can use on social media like YouTube, Facebook and Biznik. And we'll weave the best clips together into a larger film, that tells a bigger story about why people start businesses, how they define success, and, well, their stories!

You can participate remotely in this project. I will be sending out an announcement about that soon, but basically what you'll do is have an event somewhere you can use a video camera (your video-equipped cell phone will do), and ask each other to tell the story of YOUR business. Upload the results to the YouTube group we've created, and you'll have your chance to shine, too.

Thanks so much for making this event happen. I met a lot of great fellow-entrepreneurs and learning about all the creative and interesting things people are doing. Plus, I'm looking forward to doing the Feng Shui consult for Seth, my raffle-prize winner :)

The event WAS wonderful, and it was wonderful because all of you helped make it so!

Caroline and I are also looking forward to the next New York Biznik event... and particularly looking forward to kicking back as "just" participants.

    Hello All

I had a "Fantabulous" time at this event. Meeting all of you was a wonderful experience.

As for my prize, "Saint Misbehavin", what a funny book, I have to put it down because it so funny, this kinda book could kill a person with laughter. Thank you Ron Kanfi, I love it.

Let's do this again, it was amazing.
