I would love to attend this event, unfortunately, my Arts Council meeting is this night at the same time. Perhaps you can do another one and try not to make it on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Thank you for considering my request.
Cheers!

Hosted by Juanita Schmitt in Seattle, Washington
When: Wednesday, August 13 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM

Normal people don’t want to think about Christmas in August, but as a retail shop we plan for this event for half the year. As a local small business owner, I am tired of seeing our economy suffer with local money being spent for art and gifts online. It is also a concern of our artist clients who have no venue to showcase their art and talent.
Criss and I realized that we have the unique ability to help local artists and craftsmen! We are doing away with walls and walls of preframed poster art and we want to showcase the art works of local artist! Store space is limited, we will have one month showcases that will revolve now through December. Three window displays and two interior displays will fill on a first come basis.
We are hosting an event for any artist, potter, jewelry maker, photographers, painters and others who would like the opportunity to sell their work in our frame shop between now and Christmas. We encourage you to bring a portfolio and/or examples of your work.
We would like to encourage local artists and anyone with ideas as to how to attract local artists. Please join us for an opportunity to get to know us and each other, have a little food, a little fun and perhaps a drink!

I'm very excited that there is a Full House for this event. Perhaps I can join you next time (when I'm not busy getting ready to travel).
My husband and I attended this event on one of those days when everything that could go wrong did and so we were alarmingly late. But we were both so glad that we finally made it there. Juanita and her partner Criss were both charming, informative, and helpful. It was fun to talk with the other attendees and see everyone's work. While I had gone to the event primarily to support my husband who is an artist, it turns out that Juanita and Criss want to sell my upcoming book on Frederick & Nelson in their shop. I put them in touch with my publisher - Arcadia Publishing - and they may end up carrying several of their local history books - happiness all around!
