Happy Hour for Home Occupationists

If you operate your business out of your home, you probably have a "Home Occupation" according to local zoning codes. Here's an opportunity to network and get a roadmap of the zoning code's landmines.

First, we'll mix and mingle at this architecturally edgy new Ballard lounge. Then I'm make a short presentation featuring the 10 tips you need to know to comply with the Seattle zoning code for Home Occupations.   Understanding the zoning requirements to operate a home occupation is useful information for those of us (like many of my clients who work at home and receive visitors or frequent deliveries.)

  One of my relatives had to shut down their gourmet cooking school because they were in a single family zone. Bellevue and Redmond are very strict about this issue. I think that they both tax you on the square footage used.

  I second the nomination for another session. All my clients have day jobs, which means I have to teach classes in the evenings to fit their schedules. Can you offer this at a lunch hour or on the weekend?

  My colleagues and I are looking for a house to rent that is zoned commercial for a new expanded practice. It sounds like you will have the zoning maps for the area, how fabulous. Great class topic.

  Nice segue. I would love to have a class for those looking for spaced in commercial zones, if there is enough interest.

  Seattle has five different commercial zones and they all have different development standards. I can show business owners which zones they would be allowed to operate in and where those zones are in the city, which helps to narrow down your search immensely.
