We're considering hosting the "biznik Way" event at a new coworking space in Redmond in August as well. I'll keep you posted as to a date, in case anyone wishes to attend that one instead.
How to Network the Biznik Way
Hosted by Lara Eve Feltin & Dan McComb in Seattle, Washington
When: Tuesday, August 12 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM
Fee: Free
Event description
The Biznik way of networking is a powerful combination of online social networking technology paired with face-to-face events. Learn from co-founders Lara Feltin and Dan McComb how to grow your business faster and become more profitable by using the tools at your disposal.
We'll walk you through the five main areas of the site, elaborate on the features as we designed them, and how to use them:
- Your Profile: self promotion & visibility on the site
- Events: hosting & attending
- Membership: using the directory & your Biznik network
- Biz Talk: online socializing & discussions
- Articles & Tips: writing, rating & commenting
This workshop will be focused on questions YOU bring to the table - so come prepared to ask a lot of them.
What members say about the event
- Just when you think you have Biznik figured out, they add a few more nuggets. I recommend this to anyone who wants to get the most our of their membership. --Bob Dunn
- I was already excited about Biznik and had been spreading the word, but now I'm even more amped up about it. This is an incredible resource you've created and I have no idea why a small business owner would be part of any other networking service (online or in person). You have them all beat, hands down. Thank you!"
--Debbie Lacy
- I attended the tutorial about how to plug into all the benefits of Biznik last nite. I highly recommend everyone go to this event in the future. The site is amazing and continues to get better with all the plans you have in the works. It was a good use of my time and I am going to send my mktg partner to the next one. --Bill Hoffer
Parking on Capitol Hill
Office Nomads is on Capitol Hill, not the easiest neighborhood to park in - except for the Seattle Central Community College parking garage that is literally across the street from Office Nomads and costs only $4/night. Entrance is one block East on Harvard Ave. Take the stairs at the back of the garage to get onto Boylston without having to walk around the block.

Peter Chee has graciously offered us a meeting room in his new coworking/executive suite space in Redmond - Thinkspace.
We'll be hosting a 'How to Network the Biznik Way - Eastside' at Thinkspace on August 19. Check it out, if the Eastside is more convenient for you.

the good news is that my Tuesday evenings are usually booked for clients. The bad news is that I'm having trouble getting to a Biznik way event. Could we have one on a Monday?

Wow, I'm amazed. Despite the fact that I've been a part of Biznik for at least two years, last night I learned about features I never new existed and about 'best practices' of using Biznik that I'd never even considered.
What a helpful and thorough presentation Dan & Lara -thanks! And what a rich and rewarding site this is for those who choose to dive in!
I highly recommend this event for the future, whether you're an oldie like me or brand spaning new to Biznik.

Wow! Lara and Dan covered a lot in this presentation! It was very impressive to see that being more active in the Biznik community equates to being listed higher in Google searches. By merely commenting on articles (or on events like my comment here!), that action changes the website and changes my profile, which is one of the criteria Google looks for.
I would recommend this event to anyone who wants to learn how to get more exposure and more business out of Biznik.

It is with hope and fear that I approach each Biznik event. The hope that I will learn something new and the fear that I am so cyber challenged that I will not recognize it, or be able to apply it, if I do. I was also warned by a friend, who had joined years ago that it was run by a few a highly technical whiz kids still wet behind the ears who couldn't relate to senior citizens. I am relieved to say categorically today that she didn't know what she was talking about.....and that I actually did understand what they were talking about. Lara and Dan gave me hope that I can recognize in minutes what it previously took me hours to figure out. I never have recognized the need for written tutorials and I learn (or not sometimes) from practical application. So ergo, voila! , my doubly realized goal today of a coherent specific comment, with the additional bonus of increased visibility. Kudos kids ; )

Lara and Dan make a great team, as evidenced by the success of Biznik, but that doesn't always translate to being effective presenters. I was happy to find that that they definitely pulled it off. Dan has the website working for us in every way it can and is one of the rare "geeks that speak" in ways intelligible to the rest of us. Lara keeps him, and the rest of us, on track and makes sure the audience's needs are met. I learned a lot to make my use of Biznik faster and more effective. I couldn't wait to get home and change my title and watch myself rise in the Google search results!

Dan and Lara - Thanks for all the great tips you gave us on how to use Biznik to get premium business exposure by using signature lines alone. And thanks for showing us how to upload regular videos into our profile.
