Event description

Co-hosted by Biznik Co-founder Dan McComb.

The Biznik way of networking is a powerful combination of online social networking technology paired with face-to-face events. Learn from co-founders Lara Feltin and Dan McComb how to grow your business faster and become more profitable by using the tools at your disposal.

We'll walk you through the five main areas of the site, elaborate on the features as we designed them, and how to use them:

  • Your Profile: self promotion & visibility on the site
  • Events: hosting & attending
  • Membership: using the directory & your Biznik network
  • Biz Talk: online socializing & discussions
  • Articles & Tips: writing, rating & commenting

This workshop will be focused on questions YOU bring to the table - so come prepared to ask a lot of them.

  • Introductions start at 6:30.
  • Workshop & questions til 8:30.
  • Networking til 9.

What members say about the event

Just when you think you have Biznik figured out, they add a few more nuggets. I recommend this to anyone who wants to get the most our of their membership. --Bobb Dunn
I was already excited about Biznik and had been spreading the word, but now I'm even more amped up about it. This is an incredible resource you've created and I have no idea why a small business owner would be part of any other networking service (online or in person). You have them all beat, hands down. Thank you!" --Debbie Lacy
I attended the tutorial about how to plug into all the benefits of Biznik last nite. I highly recommend everyone go to this event in the future. The site is amazing and continues to get better with all the plans you have in the works. It was a good use of my time and I am going to send my mktg partner to the next one. --Bill Hoffer

Parking on Capitol Hill

Office Nomads is on Capitol Hill, not the easiest neighborhood to park in - except for the Seattle Central Community College parking garage that is literally across the street from Office Nomads and costs only $4/night. Entrance is one block East on Harvard Ave. Take the stairs at the back of the garage to get onto Boylston without having to walk around the block.

Biznik swag

Biznik Swag will also be available for purchase: 100% Organic Cotton Biznik Tshirts ($14), Cool Travel Tumblers ($12), and Hip Notebooks ($10). Plenty of free stickers will also be on hand.

Hi Lara, Do you have a wait list for this event? If you do, please put me on it. I am very interested in attending. Thanks Drue

Hi Drue, There's almost always often someone who cancels 24 hours prior to the event, so keep your eye on this page and if that happens, jump on it to get a spot. We're planning to add a waiting list feature soon, too, for this reason!

I am also interested in attending if there is a cancellation. What is the max for this event? Thanks, Denise

The maximum number of 23 is taking into account a 20-25% no-show rate. I have yet to host this event, when at least 20% of the people simply did not show up without canceling their RSVP.

The table we all sit around at this event comfortably seats 14-15, but can squeeze 18.

We'll be hosting more of these though - so do watch the calendar.

And here is one cancelation for another to fill! I am not going to make it tonight. Life is happening.

Thanks for the promise that it will be available in the future! Terry

Hey Lara & Gang: I'm so sorry to have to bow out last minute. This was going to be my first Biznik event, and I was looking forward to meeting you all. Have a great time! I hope someone sees this spot and snatches it up ASAP. I'll email Drue and Denise right now to alert them about the two last minutes cancellations. Laila

Great event guys! For me, starting to think about biznik in a more holistic sense--and understanding how it relates to search engines--was key. It's a long 2 1/2 hours in that room though. A 5-minute break would have been great.
