I've been waiting for this day for a long time. Just got my 1.20.09 Obama shirt in the mail from MoveOn yesterday, so I'm good to go.
Inauguration day is finally here - let’s watch history happen together!
Hosted by Jacob Sayles & Kirsten Mohan in Seattle, Washington
Type: Breakfast/Lunch Meet
When: Tuesday, January 20 9:00 AM
Fee: Free

Event description
The ceremony starts at 12pm Eastern – 9am Seattle time. We know it’s early so there’ll be plenty of coffee and some breakfast goodies, too. Lots of comfy couches and chairs, lots of good people, and one amazing ceremony should make this an event to remember.
2009 is a year of incredible opportunity for all of us, so let’s come together to see some of the change we’ve worked for! Anyone that’s interested can also join in on a discussion post-ceremony about where we see 09 going and how we’re going to make positive change in our own lives or communities. We hope to see you there!

Moveon has been delinquent on sending me the T-shirts I've ordered with my Obama donations. Dang!
I so want to make this event, we'll see. Momma rarely stays up past 9. We'll see.
Thanks for the great idea though. This day should not be "observed" alone.

Doesn’t 9:00am seem a little bit early to be patriotic? I usually don’t like to get patriotic until about 4:30-5pm at the minimum. ;)
Which one is Obama again? Is he the good-looking black guy or the old white one? I don’t really follow politics.

LOL Jeremy. You goofball :P
I'll be the one using an entire box of kleenex whilst watching this amazing event in history.
If you don't recognize me, I'll make my goofy profile face for you. :) I rarely turn down an opportunity to express goofball status. ;o

This will definitely be better than watching by myself at home, or with a husband who voted the other way ;) I'm gonna try to make it for at least a little bit.

I think the ceremony goes until 11~ish, but I'm not positive of the timetable. But afterwards we'll be taking a moment to talk about change in our own lives and communities, so you can at least participate in that if you're late. :)
Hope to see you there, sue.

I'm not sure how late things will be going. Some folks will be working throughout the day. We'll just see how it goes. We have lots of donuts! See you soon.

Great gathering, I enjoyed the kitchen floor discussion about sustainable economy, and choosing book club topics to go shopping for allies.
I would love to have a more "announced and guided" beginning to a group discussion about change in our community.
