Event description

Don't you love a good story?

An adventure tale, told with a twinkle in the eye and a spark of energy that grabs your attention and doesn't let go.

Can you imagine an evening dedicated to our stories? Where we take a true life adventure and work it, shape it until it is transformed into a compelling story that moves your audience to select you out of the crowd.

Join me for an evening connecting with other independent business owners as we speak and listen. Dig deep into your independent business experience and shape your message into a story and share that story with the biznik community.

What is your story?

I want to hear it.

I'm in for some adventure. And Zig Zag is my favorite little spot on the Hillclimb - awesome venue.

    Catherine,

This sounds like so much fun! I ALWAYS have stories to tell and LOVE hearing other people's stories, as well.

Great venue choice, too. World famous bartender Murray should be there, seeing as it's a Thursday night. For you adventurous drinkers, ask Murray to surprise you. Last time I did, he whipped up a Frangelico Alexander that was yumlicious!

This idea came from all of the work I've done, crafting a compelling message to promote my business. Think about the stories you love, what draws you in? What makes a story compelling to you?

There are some who say the world is held together by stories. And indeed, in my line of work, I see the power of stories, both positive and negative, and how it impacts people's lives and health.

ZigZag is indeed a sweet spot here at the Market. I'm looking forward to being both inspired and entertained.

I've also got RSVP's from some people who are not biznik members and I'm sure they will decide to join soon after meeting all of you. So look for a mediator & creativity coach and letthem know why they should join biznik.

Gosh, joining Biznik doesn't cost anything other than a few minutes of time crafting a profile. Why would they not want to join? I've had a number of friends and colleagues that are the same way. I always encourage them to dump the habit of rumination and surprise themselves with fun and creative profiles!

I would love to come and adventure with you all, and my dear friend Catherine.
I happily will be having my first experience of Omasake at Chiso in Fremont(sushi chef's creation). Now that is an adventure. The last time he surprised us, he set two live shrimp in front of us on a beautiful plate and just waited for our response. I smiled and said that it reminded me of a time in Shanghai, where the 'latest' delicacies were served to us - a clear bowl of live, swimming tiny shrimp in warm water. You simply snatch one with your chop stick and eat. Everyone in town was doing it! Have a great time. Kathleen

I can't make it after all - John and I are planning to launch the new website this evening when there is less traffic on the site. Someone take a few photos please - you'll be able to upload them to the event on the new website in the morning.

My friends who haven't joined need a really good reason to touch a computer. Meeting all of you should do the trick.

Looks to be a very fun group.

For those who like to be prepared - can you remember back to your favorite story when you were a kid. What did you like about that story?

Or, take the current Harry Potter craze - again, what is it about these stories that captures our collective attention.

    And then spin your tale.

One last comment: have you checked out Chris Haddad's war through the wall? What a great way to get his message across.

OK, I'm coming after all - the website still isn't ready to launch, and I need a break!

I'll be there for a bit at the beginning, and then after my haircut down the street. See you later!

    Catherine,

Thanks for hosting this fun event. It was fun to meet so many new people and hear the many tales of intrigue, deceit, "aha moments" and the like...and I got some good feedback about how to stay true to my own story and still appease the "the powers that be"! Nancy
