Brooklyn, AL Community

Event description

The McLeod Residence is part art gallery, part lounge, and part meeting space that bills itself as "a home for extraordinary living through art, technology, and collaboration." Sounds like the perfect space for a Biznik event, hey? Co-founder Buster McLeod is a long-time Biznik member, and we've been angling to have an event here ever since Buster and his partner, Lele opened this unique establishment in Belltown last winter.

So join Seattle's indie business community for an inspired evening of mixing and meeting other Seattle independent business people in a creative atmosphere that should make this one of Biznik's best-attended networking events to date. Meet a new client or collaboration partner, or just enjoy meeting old friends and making new ones in an environment as unique as your business.

This will also be a great opportunity to see the current show at the Residence, "Interactivity," featuring art that explores the convergence of art and technology with a gallery full of electronic art that you can play with. More about that at www.mcleodresidence.com.

Good Choice! This is the first Thursday Gallery walk that may be an additional connection to the art world if Buster is open to the public walk. If so, being there rocks. Count me in.

The McLeod Residence is in Belltown, and ArtWalk's epicenter is Pioneer Square. But yes, Buster's place is open and has art, so this would be a good place to end up if you're doing ArtWalk early.

Ok, considering how late the last happy hour went at Liberty, I think I can safely come by after my work commitment and still chat up some of my favorite people!

We will be open to First Thursday art-walkers as well, and the lounge will be open 'til midnight for you late-comers. For those of you who can't make it on the 2nd, please feel free to come visit the members' lounge as my guests any Thurs-Fri-Sat from 6pm-12am.

Dang, I really wanted to come to this. Unfortunately I am facilitating a playformation workshop the same evening, in Tacoma. Hmmm, I'll talk to a little weasel I know and see if he might be able to figure this out...

the show there going on is appropriately tech-y, and a few of the artists themselves are indy-startup types, doing really innovative stuff. It's a VERY good show, and I am looking forward to seeing it again (along with catching up with some of y'all)...

What perfect timing! I’ve just had a gig come up! I'm late to join in on this. Looking forward to an August eve visiting this extraordinary home.
I'm hoping to use this Indie Biz Nite constructively networking. This will be a perfect time for me to meet and establish stategic partnerships with biz-providers. Post for strategic partners… What & When: 'large neighborhood party' at the end of August. Need: Stategic Partners, performance artists, i.e. strolling magician; balloon artist; mobile DJ it would be great to say hi at this event. I also am looking to find props, decor, and staging rental equip suitable for this event. A gifts and awards provider is also needed.
I am proposing large inflatables and possibly a child go-fish attraction. A graphic arts person to draw up some logo/signage would be helpful too. Love this part of the job - like it best when it's organized :~) and then the magic moments can begin to happen! If you would like to talk today give me a call the phone # is at the PartyPeople Co. website ~ kristeen b ~ www.partypeopleco.com

    This was a GREAT event!

I really liked having such a great group of good independent business folk to talk to about their needs and how LiquidPlanner can help them out. This was by far the most productive and enjoyable networking event I've been to this year.

Do it again. Do it again! :-)
