Event description

Now that you’ve mastered the art of networking, have a killer elevator speech, your unique selling proposition is fine tuned and you’ve got a web traffic attracting video, does your business have a chance of getting off the ground?

Come be a member of an workshop to help entrepreneurs add some meat to the bones of their business plan. Richard Gabel will moderate a session of peers to review each others’ business proposition. Come be a member of the board and help your fellow Biznikers with a healthy mixture of support, enthusiasm and critical analysis when you’re not in the hot seat yourself.

Be prepared for some hard work. The more information you are willing to share, the more you will get out of the session.

I will make sure participants are not in competitive situations. First come, first served as far as industries are concerned. All participants agree to respect the intellectual property rights of their fellow participants and not disclose any competitive information outside of the meetings.

Each session we discuss a specific element of strategy and planning. Everyone will have the opportunity to relate how that topic relates to their business and solicit comments from the group. I will do my homework between sessions to help facilitate discussion. You should expect to do some homework as well.

Over the course of several sessions, we will go over your existing business/idea with you in detail to gain an understanding of the larger picture of your ambitions, constraints and the status of your current business. We will all leave the meeting with a list of action items to help develop the information necessary to construct a strategy and a viable and meaningful plan. Humerlis will do a significant amount of the research, but the client is also expected to actively participate in all aspects of the creation of the plan. In the end, it will need to be your plan and not ours.

Please plan to attend several sessions if not many to get as much as you can out of this process. Read below what others have had to say about "Is Your Business Plan Ready for the Board."

Awilda Verdejo, The Compleat Voice

Richard Gabel is one of the best finds I have made as a member of Biznik. Taking his three sessions "Is Your Business Plan Ready for the Board?" was the smartest decision I could make right now. The research, information, support and guidance I received have given me the clarity to take my business to the next level, bringing me closer to realizing the success I know is possible. I deeply appreciative of Richard's knowledge and expertise in his field, his honesty and ability to point me in the right direction. I recommend Richard's "Is Your Business Plan Ready for the Board?" to every entrepreneur who is serious about learning how to improve and grow his/her business with the help of a first class professional. Thank you Richard for your amazing gifts.

Katie Beck, Diesel Dog Gourmet Coffee

Richard has been incredibly helpful in the short time that I've worked with him. He has a real talent in listening, and "getting" where I am in my Entrepreneurial growth trajectory. His guidance has been targeted, tactical, simple, results-oriented, AND dead-on the money. I would recommend Richard's counsel to anyone that wants to advance their entire business to the next level. You Rock! I am busy rearranging my schedule for next week to get out there and SELL, SELL, SELL!

Margaret Friedman, Writer, Editor, Screenwriter

Dick generously applied his expertise to a fledgling business idea of mine. He asked great questions and directed me to focus on fundamentals rather than vague, grandiose vision. I am truly grateful for his candor and level-headedness.

Paul Sweum, Top Hat Word & Index

Richard's series of small group sessions were a great way to deliver feedback back and forth across the table. His approach and meeting management style puts others at ease so they can open up and maximize idea potential. You can talk to him about anything...and with Richard's help and feedback, I came away with a more solid game plan and with bolstered confidence in what I need to do to in my business to maintain success.

Michiko Stehrenberger, BimBionic Industries

I've very much enjoyed working with Richard during his intensive business plan writing workshop, and find his unique perspective - coming from his prior corporate experience and lending insight to growing our smaller entrepreneurial efforts into something smarter and bigger than where we are now - to be refreshing! Working alongside him and getting to brainstorm different solutions and ways to "tipping point" our businesses to the next level innovatively and efficiently, a new view on ourselves, has been amazing - thank you, Richard! And when he offers his business plan 3-part intensive workshops in the future, or offers his unique point of view in other forums, I recommend you jump at the chance to be part of that focus as quickly as you can.
