What's a Jelly?
A Jelly happens when people meet up to work on their own projects, writing, programming, client work, whatever, while being in community with one another. Jellies are now happening worldwide. Come be a part of it!

As entrepreneurs and freelancers, we spend a lot of time working in isolation. We may not miss office politics, but it's fun to have coworkers sometimes--people to share in some fun banter, take a coffee break, go out to lunch, ask a quick question, etc.

Jellies can happen anywhere...a coffee shop, someone's living room...this one happens at Office Nomads on Capitol Hill. A great location for a Jelly because they've got everything we need: coffee, tea, a printer, internet access, and a great crew of nomadic workers who are friendly and fun.

Jelly is such a hot new idea that at biznik's first Jelly last month, Q13 news showed up to do a story on it! See some of our own biznik Jelly participants in this news story.

I've been encouraging the Jelly concept here on biznik because we are a people of connection and community who also want to get our work done. Think about hosting your own Jelly!

What to Bring:

  • Your laptop.
  • A project to work on.
  • A lunch to put in the frig. (or go out to lunch at one of the many spots nearby)
  • I like to bring a bottle of water, but there are glasses and mugs available.

We've carved out our own area to work (just ask when you sign in at Office Nomads and Eric, Jacob or Susan will show you where to go). If people want to grab a bite to eat together there are lots of restaurants around, or bring your own lunch and put it in the frig.

I'll be there from 10-2 but you can arrive earlier and stay as long as you want.

Office Nomads offers a complimentary day for first timers so if you've never been, it's free for you! If you're a repeat visitor, it's $25.

Some things have come up that I need to deal with right away, so I'm going to be late. But I hope to still make it!
