Event description

Are you reaching your ideal clients? Do people understand what you do? Does your image reflect professionalism?

Learn the framework to audit your brand and answer concerns like these. Even better, you will get a chance to participate in the process. If you are like most people, doing is a great way of learning. As a group we will go through the process of how to build a successful brand for any organization.

Working together in a brainstorming format we will decide on some key factors to our business. Examples are: what kind of business are we in, why should anyone care, what makes us different, what it is our purpose. We will also discuss ways to describe our company that gives it form, substance and a life of its’ own. This process is essential to building a business that is successful and sustainable.

Come prepared to participate and spend a fun and enlightening afternoon building a brand.

Hi Corbet! We met at a BNI meeting. I'm attending because I've starting to do more and more branding and I know I have a lot to learn.

I'm glad you can be there Anita. I think this process works well for almost any experience level. Every time I go through the process with a client I learn something new.

    Hi Corbet,

I'm new to Biknik and your event sounds like a great start to boosting my business. I may have to leave 10-15 min or so early to make an appointment - is this ok? Thanks for offering this opportunity!

That should be fine Johnna. I have added 30 minutes to the end of this as a buffer zone. I find brainstorming style sessions can go by fast. We will have gotten through the main ideas after 2 hours. The last 30 minutes will be for how far we can push it. I'm glad you can make it.

Well poo...full! I'm totally bummed. I don't wish any of the current participants ill but should one of them win the lottery and move to Tahiti I'd be thrilled to take their place! Hope you do this event again - it looks like it will be a valuable experience.

Hi Everyone, I'm looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. In order for us to make the most of our time, I'd like to hear what company we want to work on. We can then get started right away. Below are three choices.

    1. Office Art - This company would offer products business to business. The general idea is setting up fine art in office spaces.
    2. Hat Store - Sells hats directly to consumers in a retail environment.
    3. Dogwalker - Just like it sounds. Walking dogs for people.

These are three distinct companies that offer services in different ways. Two are product related- one is b to b and one is b to c. The last one is a service b to c. While none of us might or might not want to run companies like these, it will lead us through the process. Pick one that interests you in approach and how you might create a niche for that business.

Please let me know what your choice is as soon as you can. Feel free to post your choice or send an email back to me. Thanks.

Ah if only I'd been sitting at my computer instead of at YANE (Yet Another Networking Event) this morning...so alas even though I heard from Corbet, Mike, and Anne (both of which had something come up where they were unable to attend) it's too short of notice for me today - I do have to actually attempt to get some work done this week! ;-) Thanks everyone for letting me know there was an opening. I'll keep an eye open for next time.
