Event description

My friends say I host a really good party. Well, that's what this is going to be with the added benefit: we'll blow open your mind. Yes, without drugs. With good old fashioned weird activities.

Come with a present issue, need, or question in mind. Something like: should I pay a lot for a new website or just bootstrap it for a while. You'll each get the benefit of serving as a guide or wise-elder to someone else. You'll enjoy the benefit of really listening to someone else talk without busily thinking of what to say next. You'll have your issue be front and center.

In addition, you'll eat some good snacks. I'm the snack Queen.

My guess is you will leave feeling that lovey-dovey bonding feeling that you get when people are kind and receptive to you.

Sorry I can't be more specific. The magic will weave itself once we know who is coming and what you are manifesting in the world. We'll be incubating you as you incubate your best work in the world. A double win!!

Please join me. It will gobs of fun and transformative, or you get a free half hour legal consult!

I'm afraid to be the first guy to RSVP... what if people say "OH MY HECK DAVE'S THERE SO THERE IS NO WAY I'M GOING TO BE THERE!?!?!!"
On the other hand, what if they say -- "OH MY HECK DAVE'S THERE maybe he'll IMprov a sonnet, haiku or some other poem for me. Is it worth the risk? Well, is it? Dave Kuhns http://www.cyranowriter.com

There is an old adage.... The First Guest To RSVP sets the party in motion. Dave's commitment means you will laugh at this party. With Dave, or at Dave, is the question.

Thank you for being brave Dave and being first.

Stefani loves hosting a party ... and it shows! You get all the good mingling and energy and snacky treats you might expect. And then, she usually throws in some soulful kind of interaction that you wouldn't expect. This combo means you often connect with people at a deeper level than parties usually allow. In fact, I met one of my favorite new friends at one of her parties. Plus, of course, DAVE will be there, so what more can I say???!

Great. When you have 3... you have a party. I promise that we will be doing techniques you haven't seen before. I know because I made some of them up myself just today. Like the Good Gossip game!! You'll love it.

Yah Hoo!! Away we go. Really this will be amazing. If you and I can touch base even by email in advance, I can sculpt it with you needs higher (as first to sign up have higher priority)!!

What are you working on now? What is your dream future? How/what is holding you back?

    Thanks!!

The Puget Sound Yacht Club is a hidden secret. It's right on the water on Northlake Union between Ivars Salmon House and Gasworks park. It's got a full kitchen, seating for 75, and square or round tables depending on what you want. They post their calendar as a PDF on the website so you can see if a night is open as soon as you get an itch to schedule. They are low-key and easy to work with. And best, the charge is $75 for an evening ($225 for a messy party), if you get a referral from someone who is a user. I'm a key-holder because of my ties with two groups that meet there, so I can help you get this nice rate. Some people find the parking not great and also on a rainy dark night its a bit hard to see. A May evening will be gorgeous.

I recommend that if you have time, go for a cocktail at Ivars beforehand on the deck with the water view, or walk around Gasworks to destress from your day before this event. If its a nice day, you'll have a very lovely mini-retreat.

Thanks for the venue info, Stefani. I think I went to a wedding there a few years ago. Beautiful spot. Do they have audio-visual equipment available for giving presentations?

  • Stefani Quane
Posted by Stefani Quane, Seattle, Washington | May 11, 2009

    No audio-equipment. A podium.

This is so Biznik. Count me in!

  • Stefani Quane
Posted by Stefani Quane, Seattle, Washington | May 12, 2009

Noreen has referred a few clients my way (and I would have thanked her had they said her name!!) over the year. It will be very nice to put a name to the face. She's a friend/colleague of a good friend of mine, Laila Atallah.

The workshop is beginning to take shape as I see new names/professions on the list. We'll be doing some of the following: a South American shaman-based group cohension activity called heart of the bird; a bit of popcorn systemic constellation work for the lucky person who has a either/or, "which way" type of question; a silent get-to-know others and expose my prejudices/hypothesis 4-way activity; a funky, honoring check-in process; and a Vulcan-mind meld targeted to the subject you most want to learn; and for a few brave people a Good Group Gossip game to lay down some positive recordings and overcome limiting beliefs.

If none of this sounds familiar to you: GOOD. The material will be fresh and worth your investment of time.

You might want to come prepared with answers to the questions: what do I want/need to learn most; what is my definition of career uber-success; and do I have a decision to make that it would be helpful to get a totally different perspective about.

I'm working on getting my friend and Chef Carlo Maietto to cook us something fabulous. You could bring some pot-luck items if you are a foody and this would be fun for you. Think of this as a kick off to summer, which to me happens on Memorial Day Weekend.

I recommend that the wait list be right here. I'll check at this spot if more spaces open up. As a presenter, I'm delighted with the interest. I've certainly suffered the pain of too few people signing up in the past.

I've been making gift sacks for everyone. I thought we could celebrate 4-years of Biznik as well.

Did I read that right? "It will gobs of fun... OR you get a free half hour legal consult."

So, if we DON'T have a good time, then we have to spend a 1/2 hour with you in private!? That's pretty funny.

Can you take in one more person? I would love to go but need to arrange for a sign language interpreter since I am deaf. I seem to be the last person to know about current events. Need to be up to par with these kind of events. Please let me know if its possible for me to join or not? Thanks!

  • Stefani Quane
Posted by Stefani Quane, Seattle, Washington | May 21, 2009

Yes, it seems correct that you can come and bring a sign language interpreter.

Yes, if you don't like my event you get compensated with a free half hour of my private time intensifying your exposure to me so you can dislike me even more!!

Greetings.. It's game day. I've been putting off client work to come up with some fabulous stuff for you. Spock Mind Meld, Heirarchy tribute, Outrageous claims. I've Id's our party goals as: fun, yummy connection, quantum leaps, some learning and a celebration of Dan McCombs 4-year success with Biznik. Bring your happy (and sad, if the case may be) selves down at 6:15 to the Puget Sound Yacht Club. In case you saw something that said 11 am, that is not right. I never found that reference to correct, so I'm sorry if there is bad info somewhere. The parking along North Lake Union is tight. If worse comes to worse, you can park at GasWorks Park to the East. See you tonight.

The menu is lots of fruit, tea, chocolate desserts, and I will strive to pick up some chicken and salad this afternoon. If you need something different, you might want to bring your your power food.

Have a great day. I look forward to meeting you later.

    Stefani,

Bummers! I was looking forward to this event, but now need to stay closer to the Eastside because of a change in my day plans. Did find another event to catch later on, and will be thinking of all of you there.

I left a message for Lynn Hajnal about the opening; if not her, maybe Jeff Maas will get in.

    Enjoy!

It would be a good feature for Biznik to add a waiting list. I never new enough in advance to notify the wait listed people. My guess is that 2 or 3 of you could show up and we would have some no shows. The trouble is... what if 15 of you showed up? Group opinions on this subject?
