Event description

We all negotiate, but do we realize that is what we are doing. We negotiate on a daily basis in many different ways. We experience a negotiated exchange with our children, spouse, partner, friends, clients, the web designer, marketing expert, strategy coach or training guru. What should we charge, what should we pay and what should we expect. What's the scope of work, what's a fair rate?

Very few of us were ever taught in childhood specific negotiation skills. Unless our last name happened to be Trump, we just battled it out on the playground and have been doing so ever since. Sometimes winning and sometimes loosing. Sometimes not sure what just happened. Come to the Temple Bar for a little social networking, food/drink (must be 21) and hear a couple of wild and crazy guys share some rules for master negotiators. We'll let you decide which one's wild and which one's crazy..........

See you there........

Looking forward to this event as it is so true that although we do "negotiate" daily we are not really ever taught the "correct" way. bliss

This sounds wonderful. I wish I could be there but will still be recuperating from knee replacement surgery happening on Oct. 7. Have a great evening! I am sure I'll hear about it. As a Realtor, I negoitate all of the time.... whether helping my buyers or my sellers.

    Warmly, Meredith

    Meredith,

Praying for your surgery to go well and for a speedy recovery. Maybe Dave Hiller and I will do Navigating the Art of Negotiations again soon.

    My best to you........Scott

Studying up on this topic will be fun for Scott and me in preparation. So much of "Negotiations" has been presented in the form of argumentation, intimidating and being intimidated-not really positive. In our short hour we want to explore this topic with some handouts, bibiography, and discussion and emphasize integrity and authenticity. We may expand this to another session or two. This past week I negotiated a whole deal with my 17-year-old daughter about her homecoming dance event-talk about intimidation!

So how late is Anna letting you stay up?

Yes, negotiations through the experience of most people, is wrought with the thought of conflict, arguing, yelling and storming out of the room to make a point. A master negotiator can be calm and collected and even enjoy the process once he or she understands the components, strategies, and nuances of negotiation. It doesn't have to be painful. It just takes a little change in attitude and understanding to........Well, get'r done.

Scott-now we ARE getting personal. I am in complete control of the situation....

A word about the venue: The Temple Bar in downtown Bellingham is a very cozy place. Can get a bite to eat and just relax with friends. Been there a few times and even last night. The place does it right and we have the whole room to the right after you walk in. The owner has been very accommodating as I cleared this with her. Tuesday is her slow night so it works perfect for her.

In preparation for this great session, feel free to connect with one of my alliance partners and friends, fellow Biznik Jeanette Nyden. She is an attorney and also has a consulting business which helps small companies negotiate with big companies. I highly recommend her.

Sounds like this will be a great session!

In my career as a Public Health servant, I have learned that the art of "negotiation" is as important as public education, public relations, and the actual work of public safety ! Oye, the stories I could share,...

Good Morning everyone....... Thinking of you all and I hope you have a productive and rewarding day. I'm looking forward to seeing you tonight.

We have a full night ahead indeed. I've worked hard to exceed your expectations (I hope) and encourage you to enjoy one another this evening and meet new people and make new friends.

There is a lot of content to get through. Don't miss out..........Scott and Dave

Yeah, a great event with some substantive input, even handouts and all at an exquisite venue! Great people to meet and network business! See everyone at 5:30 as much as possible. We'll start the "official" session by 6:15 so try to wrap up work in a timely manner this early evening. We'll close the session at 7:30 but feel free to Biznik it up afterwards as well...
