The Biznik way of networking is a powerful combination of online social networking technology paired with face-to-face events. Learn from co-founders Lara Feltin and Dan McComb how to grow your business faster and become more profitable by using the tools at your disposal.
We'll walk you through the five main areas of the site, elaborate on the features as we designed them, and how to use them:
This workshop will be focused on questions YOU bring to the table - so come prepared to ask a lot of them.
* If this event is full, perhaps you can make it to the next one on December 17.
BONUS:
Dan begins this workshop with a 20-minute introduction on Marketing Your Business Using Social Media, which provides a brief background on trends in technology and marketing that make social networking and Web 2.0 media such a powerful approach for those running a small business. This overview shares some great tools that are available to you, that can complement your Biznik networking.
What members say about the event
Parking on Capitol Hill
Office Nomads is on Capitol Hill, not the easiest neighborhood to park in - except for the Seattle Central Community College parking garage that is literally across the street from Office Nomads and costs only $4/night. Entrance is one block East on Harvard Ave. Take the stairs at the back of the garage to get onto Boylston without having to walk around the block.
About the venue
Are you the latest freelancer, off-site worker or independent pro who's realized working at home by yourself isn't all it's cracked up to be?
Everyone thinks working from home is going to be perfect...that is, until they actually have to do it...
Now there's another choice - you can experience all the comfort, the community, and the other benefits that come with having your own office, with none of the bad.
Office Nomads cofounders Jacob Sayles and Susan Evans invite you to take a tour of Office Nomads starting at 6pm on the night of this event.
I've also put a Seattle December event in the calendar.
Networking the Biznik Way
Monday, December 15.
Hi, I would love to attend this!!! Would you please let me know if someone cancels? Thanks so much. I totally need this information for I've never utilized this wonderful tool. Blessings, Phyllis Goodrich
I am hoping that I would get to attend this one for sure. I'm so deprived of face to face interaction with others outside of the house. Anyway, can't wait to attend it. Later.
I'm so bummed I have to cancel! I'm looking forward to making the one in December though (it's so far away!!).
oops, i just saw this thinking it was for tomorrow. dang! I'll will be there for December.
Great event. There is not enough time in my days to explore all of the great new features on Biznik. This event provided a review of features, a great social media overview, and the chance to meet some new people to boot. Thanks Dan and Lara.
Very nice event, a great overview of new features that I hadn't yet taken a look at, and a powerful discussion about how to leverage Biznik to improve business. I'm glad I made it and sorry I got there late. Now I know where to park and won't drive around the neighborhood for ten minutes wasting time:-)
DD
I'm sorry I had to cancel last minute again! I'll be there in December.
Event showed a lot of what social media is about, gave me ideas (Dan, thanks for listening) for some cross pollination to expose printing as a viable communication tool, ways to promote dberkeyGroup and All Access Printing & Mailing, plus the bonus of running into some people I haven't seen in awhile. Most of all, the presentation did show a compelling reason to upgrade. Thanks for holding the meeting. As for keeping it free, why not? It promotes Biznik, and the room was overflowing anyway.
Dan and Lara,
Thanks for holding such a great event. I truly feel now that I have gotten a better idea of the all the tools and resources available to me on Biznik. Before the event, I felt that I had figured out some of the main areas of the site, but now I know that Biznik has SO much to offer its members! This is an amazing site and I look forward to seeing it get even bigger and better. The ideas exchange tool that is available to us will bring wonders to this site. Thanks again for listening and sharing such critical need-to-know and how-to-do processes on your site. Looking forward to seeing you again...Take care.
Regards,
John Trivedi
Dan and Lara: Thanks for a very informative event. I "get" Biznik much better and look forward to getting more involved in the community. I also enjoyed getting to know a few fellow Bizniks. I particularly appreciated Dan's explanation of Biznik's strategies for SEO and Web 2.0. Very interesting!
Dan and Lara,
I was amazed at how much I was missing. Thank you for the consistent intuitive navigation. It's the best I've seen. I also gained invaluable SEO ideas on how to maximize my use of Biznik. Thank you both!
Ari Klein
Lara and Dan,
Thanks so much for this event and for putting yourself out there. I understand much better now what an amazing tool this website is. (Which made me upgrade to an active member yesterday..)
The central message - besides all the useful information how to use the site - that stays with me is: "People trust people, not businesses... It allows you to have a voice"
That's how the Biznik way feels: To develop your own voice of doing business as a human being and connecting with others on the way.
I am very inspired and energized. The voice in my head does not run in circles, but can connect with "real" people".
Thank you!!
Ingrid
Excellent overview Dan & Laura. And yet there is still so much more to explore about ways to use Biznik that couldn't be covered in 2 solid hours on the topic! I think that speaks to the depth and utility of the website, as well as the many non-virtual benefits of being involved. Being a solo-preneur doesn't feel so daunting or isolating anymore thanks to you!!
With gratitude,
Karolyn
