Event description

NOTE: This is a super low tide and perfect moonlight walk ...I will confirm permission from the county parks department prior to the event date. Bring a flashlight to find your way!

Spring Beach Walks will be daytime April 17th and May 15th for the best low spring tides.

Directions to Location: Take Grrandview Exit 266 and go West off I-5. Grandview RD crosses Holeman Avenue and becomes Koehn RD, makes a 90 degree turn. Where the Koehn public road ends, there is a parking lot on the left with sign. It's not obvious because it's a new county park.

Enjoy the amazing 3/4 mile trail through forest wetlands to the majestic pebbled beach of Pt Whitehorn. This new marine reserve was a partnership of Whatcom County and the Whatcom Land Trust and as a sanctuary, no pets are allowed. You will hear and see birds and wonderful flora fauna along the way. Easy flat trail with steep incline to the beach at the end.

Bring a thermos or drink to share and some nibbles. We'll park on a log and soak up the night air sound of waves splashing to distant fireworks from north and south.

Feel free to call my cell if you get lost: 360-220-2997 (Awful weather date TBD)

This event will be a perfect end to our year of getting to know new local entrepreneurs and launching our new year in a natural more grounded setting in tune with who we are and why we live in the Pacific Northwest. (No alcohol, no pressure and no pets allowed.) Kids and friends are welcome! Bring your binoculars or lightweight telescope to watch the night sky and fireworks.
