Event description

Finding work/life balance in today's hectic paced world is no simple task.

How a woman sees herself sexually determines how she thinks, feels, and behaves in almost every other arena, public or private. This is true for men as well. A good relationship, a great sex life affects productivity and creativity in the work place.

Spend more time at work than at home, and you miss out on a rewarding personal life. Then again, when you face challenges in your personal life, such as caring for an aging parent or coping with marital problems, concentrating on your job can be difficult.

Whether the problem is too much focus on work or too little, when your work life and your personal life feel out of balance, stress — along with its harmful effects — is the result.

The good news is that you can take control of your work-life balance — and give yourself the time to do the things that are most important to you.

*Keep a log. Track everything you do for one week.

*Learn to say no. Whether it's a co-worker asking you to spearhead an extra project or your child's teacher asking you to manage the class play, remember that it's OK to respectfully say no.

*Leave work at work.

*Manage your time.

*Communicate clearly. Limit time-consuming misunderstandings by communicating clearly and listening carefully. Take notes if necessary.

*Nurture yourself. Set aside time each day for an activity that you enjoy.

*Set aside one night each week for bedroom recreation.

*Protecting your day off.

Dozens of studies show that sexual expression is good for the heart, the immune system, the reproductive system – and for controlling pain, stress and depression.

Dr. Diana Wiley, Marriage and Family Therapist, and Board-Certified Sex Therapist, offers a road map for understanding and improving your sexuality.

Come hear her talk – with time for Q & A – on Thursday, April 9th from 6-8 pm, in the Fireside Lounge, Centennial Towers, 2515 4th Avenue, Seattle 98121. There is no charge and refreshments will be provided.

As a LoveNest specialist and a biz gal, this type of event is perfect for me to better help my clients AND myself!

Been learning a lot about balance lately. Could use a partner for that bedroom recreation! teehee.

Actually, I'm accepting being set up on dates with others, which I've never done before, so if you know of anyone that may be a good match...heehee :)

    Cheers,

Sex and the workplace is going to be a very informative event for anyone who attends. My favorite comment on the event description is setting aside one night each week for bedroom recreation LOL! So true!

Creating a work life balance awareness in this economy is so important because a great sex life and intimacy is really the glue for good relationships, and nurturing ourselves and putting ourselves first is vital to our health and over all well being.

Thanks Kammie for putting this event together and Dr. Diana for speaking on this topic!

I know I really need this! I have a difficult time turning off the work part of my life. And I have realized that other parts of my personal life and relationships are suffering because of it. I am anxious to learn some techniques I can employ to keep a balance so both my business and personal life can flourish.

amazing event! refreshing to talk about things related to work in a more unconventional way.

Kammie started things off with her great sass and style and Dr. Diana had some great stats about sex and its affect on health, etc.

People pitched in with conversation and comments. It was so great to share in a smaller group about experiences with the gender differences, confidence, etc. - and with the business community. It IS about building relationships here and who says we have to only talk about biz? Personal life affects biz - and I am excited that we are talking about this too!

Looking forward to more events with both gals!

    Thank you again!

    Blessings,

What a wonderful event Kammie and Dr Diana put on! Lots of very interesting, useful and thought provoking material. Dr Diana pointed out some insights into how the genders differ in their views on sexuality and body image and how, in turn, they can affect performance and perception in the work place. All good stuff!

    Thank You!
