Event description

Four years ago today, Dan and Lara's first Biznik event was breakfast with 12 of their friends at Salmon Bay Cafe in Ballard (near Seattle).

They are celebrating the big anniversary by doing it all again -- same place, same station.

For some reason they thought a breakfast meeting at 7 in the morning was an example of business networking that doesn't suck. Well, I'm here to say it does.

That's why the Portland version of the Breakfast Celebration will start at 8 am (which, for me, is still pushing it!). We'll give the folks in Seattle a jingle to let them know we're celebrating with them!

We definitely have cause for celebration! The Seattle-area now boasts more than 10,000 members, and here in Portland, we're just about 1,000 strong and Biznik's been here just little more than a year!

So join me for the breakfast soiree at Beaterville Cafe in North Portland. I haven't eaten there yet, but rumor has it they have one of the best breakfasts in town! (vegetarians and vegans are lovingly accommodated)

It will be great to share a breakfast and Biznik's Anniversary with you and others! See you then, and thanks for making it 8 AM instead of 7!

Hey Jen, I know what you mean! It is rare I am anywhere in top form at 8 in the morning, on a Monday no less!

    Should I give you a wake-up call? :-)

I've never been to Beaterville, but I'm glad it has your recommendation!

Hi John. I'm super-glad you'll join us and that this will be your Inaugural event! Hip, Hip. Hooray!

(At first glance, I thought your name was "John Denver, but did a double-take to see that you are John Dover :-)

Wow! What a great time we had this morning, didn't we?

Thank you, Everyone, for your attending and sharing freely of your entrepreneurial magic. I am very much looking forward to connecting with each of you again soon.

And, Kaya, what a great way to put your inspiration into action! You committed to posting an event this morning and affirmed it again publicly here.

What are the rest of you taking away from our anniversary celebration that you can use in your business today or this week?

ALL of you are an inspiration. I'm grateful to be in such awesome company here in my new city of Portland.

    Hello All!

As always, Tshombe hosts with extraordinary ease and makes everyone feel welcome, listened to, supported and appreciated. Most of all, I find one of his extra special talents is being able to really liven things up.

Even an early morning breakfast is made fuller with his infectious and boisterous laugh.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every Biznik event I have attended! Sometimes I'm in a class learning new information and sometimes it's just to get out and meet new people and/or potential business alliances. I always see a few familiar faces and a few new ones. What a warm and inviting community, it really is.

I consider myself fortunate to have joined this group and am very happy that others shared it with me.

Let's see if we can build Portland's group to rival Seattle's numbers. What do you think? If each of us invite a few others we could do it in no time!!

    Up for the challenge, anyone?
