Event description

As a small business owner getting clients takes more than just handing out business cards. There is a sales process that takes place and it’s important to understand how it works to be successful. If you are struggling with your sales process, this workshop will help you identify the sales system or paradigm that most closely suits your needs and what you need to do to improve upon it. The second part of the class will focus on sales etiquette to help you positively stand out and sell professionally and confidently.

We’ll start with an overview of the steps all the sales paradigms seem to have in common. Using interactive exercises, we will break some of them down. Then we’ll put them back together again with a discussion about the various paradigms of selling and how the steps fit into each paradigm. If you are new to (or overwhelmed by) sales, you’ll leave with a better idea of which paradigm is right for you. This workshop will also spotlight subtleties that make a big difference, such as rapport (and that probably isn’t just what you think it is, even if you are trained in NLP!) and how you package your offer. Resources will also be available.

The sales etiquette portion of the seminar will cover appropriate attire, sales correspondence, email and phone etiquette, confident handshakes and business card etiquette.

Joyce Lynn Elder works with corporate clients who are wrestling with gossip, backstabbing, employee turnover and other issues that dilute the strength of their greatest asset – their people. Joyce is trained as a Master Results Coach, Performance Consultant, and as a Trainer. Combine that with her legal training and mediation/facilitation background, and it’s no wonder she is known for her persuasiveness. Joyce says, “Even though I have been considered influential and persuasive, I hated selling and believed I wasn’t good at it until I finally understood what selling really is and realized we sell (and buy) all day every day.”

Arden Clise works with professionals to increase their soft skills through powerful, contemporary business etiquette seminars and individual consulting. From making a positive first impression, networking with ease, to confidently conducting a business meal, Arden Clise teaches etiquette savvy that is essential for workplace success.

Because the Mosaic Coffeehouse room is by donation we will ask attendees to consider making a small donation to the non-profit coffeehouse to help pay for the room.

Hi, Everyone. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you next week.

Debby - that's why Arden and I didn't have this event in October - we want you to associate sales with gratitude and abundance, not scariness...Okay, not really, but it sounded good!

    Arden & Joyce,

Thank you for your workshop. It was very well done, engaging and interesting. Lots of Q&A and great discussion.

Joyce your exploration of the sales process from challenging us to "set the intention & put it in writing" to offering solid information on the "course of action" was great. I appreciated the handouts and listing of additional resources.

Arden your presentation on improving our soft skills using proper business etiquette covered a wide variety of topics. It was fun, concise, to the point. When I meet Bill Gates or a prominent public figure or politician I don't ask for their card, I wait for them to offer it; I offer my card if someone asks or shows great interest in my business with the type facing them--two tips shared.
