Shameless Bragging for the Professional Networker

Last time I attended this event it totally opened my eyes to all kinds of small but effective ways to connect.

What's more, as a professional in the field of acupuncture it is important to get noticed, I learned how to get my name on the TOP of the first page of a google search.

I attended Howards first "Shameless Bragging" event and picked up a few tips. You will learn a lot from modest Howard and if it is like last time, you will see some examples featuring well known Biznik members.

One quick tip, if you are a supporting member, make sure that you have a tag line promoting your businesses at the end of your posts. You pay that $24 a month. Get the most mileage from it if you post regularly.

I just had a patient schedule an emergency appointment, and will not be able to attend. Drat!

But, it does open up an opportunity for someone else. enjoy!

I really hate to lose out on this one because us realtors are notorious for telling people "it's nothing" and "it's what we do." Agents like myself go out of their way to go further for the client than anyone else might. But the client never knows how hard we are working for them and that someone else might not have given them that attention and care. We lose out on a lot because it's just how WE would do it for every client while the ho-hum agents would say the same thing. The good agents don't like to brag, and so we don't often stand out.

Great event, Howard. I'm so excited to have finally been able to attend one of your well-known and well-loved events. You live up to your reputation. The event was helpful, positive, inspiring and invigorating!

Lesson I took home from tonight - a reminder of the importance of telling a story to engage your audience, whether you're delivering a 90 second pitch to a room full of people, or engaging with someone you've just met in conversation.

You've shown all of us that business networking doesn't have to suck - it can be a lot of fun.

I've spent a lot of time polishing my intros, etc. and thought I had a pretty good handle on it.

Last nite, I learned I didn't.

Less techno jargon - more human connection.
