"Come prepared to network and learn. We will dig in deep on how to attract and close more customers through the use of free social media tools combined with a perspective on branding that I guarantee that you have never heard before. We will step through detailed examples of what it takes to get you up and running with a sound social media strategy for your business.
These aren't ideas that are nice to have, they are the new marketing fundamentals that every business should be putting to use today. There are so many new social media tools that are both powerful and available for little to no budget. And they have the ability to provide you with a competitive advantage that most of your competitors have yet to even hear, yet understand.
You will learn about social media from my perspective as a fellow entrepreneur and brand marketing strategist, with a laser focus towards return on investment. That is why I have partnered with a full team of social media experts in all the top categories, so that each area can be both represented with authority while still independently evaluated on its unique merits for fitting into a sound business strategy. This means that every social media recommendation made in the workshop has been put through rigorous filters and real life executions prior to making it into this seminar.
This workshop is designed to place the power of social media and the right brand promise into your own hands."

Please spread the word - and know that we'll post the room details and agenda soon - but basically we'll have: networking/intros A full HOUR and 15 minutes of Steve's preso time after to connect
I am searching for local bakeries or restaurants to provide us with some great snacks - stay tuned for that, and keep spreading the word!
Together, anything is possible! - Lori

Tony, yes - this is a great follow up to SHINE and I am thrilled that Steve is willing to come to Bellingham for our event. Naomi we will be in a good sized venue - only issue is finding parking.... classes are in session and we will have 80+ at our event...
-
Posted by Lori Richardson, Bellingham, Washington | May 11, 2009
Greg, the WCC hospitality is appreciated! Where else could we get a venue this large and with so much cooperation!
-
Posted by Chris Bonner, Bellingham, Washington | May 11, 2009
Would it be possible to get some more detailed directions on exactly where on campus this event will be? It's not a very big campus, but there are several buildings, and since some of us (well me anyway) don't know our way around WCC it would be helpful to know where we are going. Thanks!

That was fabulous! Thank you Lori and Steve!
Steve advocates 'giving' as opposed to 'selling' when you network. Let me tell you...this man walks his talk!
Thanks again!

THANK YOUS are in order....... to WCC and Greg for the FANTASTIC venue... to Steve MacDonald for the FABULOUS content... to Sodexco for the beverages to Pat of Cafe Caffe' on Meridian - awesome treats.
NOTE: a GREAT way to show appreciation is to send a "COMPLIMENT" through Biznik to Steve, or Greg, or Pat - make it general as they can publish it to the world. Contact me if you need any help with this, and thanks for the one I already received.

This event was a very informative overview of the power and relevance of social media and branding to todays business market. I now better understand how much it has all grown and how social media involvement in society is huge. Beyond using the tool of social media to connect with potential customers, it is a very important medium to influence people to take action in their lives on critical issues of our time. Like the environment, health and personal lifestyle. Great job Steve and Lori.

Thanks so much to all who made this great event possible. It really broke things down into a comprehensible format that I feel like I can actually implement without feeling overwhelmed.:)
Steve's delivery was very enjoyable and the venue welcoming. (Thanks also to those who provided the great snacks and coffee, etc!)

Another way to thank Pat from Cafe Caffe is,, of course, to stop by her restaurant on Meridian, across from Bellis Fair Mall - (by Ross / Shari's / facing Meridian in that strip mall.... )
It is also a great place to hold a Biznik coffee or educational session - especially around 2 or 3PM...

Thank you so much for the tons of information. You clearly demystified social media marketing and gave easy action steps for business owners to take. It was well presented and executed. Thanks for bringing it to our neck of the woods.

What an accomplished and inspiring presenter! Now it is up to me to apply this information. Somehow it does not seem so 'mysterious' after listening to Steve. Thank you so much! ps. I sat next to a guy with the most intrusive after-shave. How about a chemical free meeting next time? I am luckily not allergic, but I know many are.

Posted by mitchell riley, bellingham, Washington | May 14, 2009it is always great to see so many people come together towards a common goal. Although in this case it may tend to be somewhat self oriented in terms of business enhancements, Steve's message of giving resonates through all aspects of our lives. Even such classics as" think and grow rich" relay that message. The more you give, the more the return. It is through his giving in this case that his personal "networth" so to speak, grows by leaps and bounds. Everyone should take note. Thanks to all those who facilitated this wonderful gathering. And an even greater thanks to my cohorts who took the time to attend and hopefully somehow will spread the message and make the lives of others better through thier gifts.

Thank you so much for a great event! I have been pondering this "social media" stuff and how to offer it to my clients in a cohesive format and the info Steve presented really helped me on the way to getting there. Plus, I can use a lot of it for my own business. I'm excited! Are you excited? I'm excited!

I already regularly employ many of the social media venues Steve talked about, but I definitely learned some great new tricks. It was a fun and informative presentation for the newbie as well as the more experienced social media business user. Steve really knows his stuff! Great job with the venue, too.

Quite an experience, to see a master at work. Imparting incredible marketing/networking/how-to-join-the-social-media-phenom information, and also working the crowd! I'm sure 98% of all those present will Google the jeans site Steve repeatedly sited. LOL Best of all, I have some great information I can understand (for the most part) on how to use these tools to build my business presence on the net.
Just a few weeks ago I joined Yelp and several other social networking groups, and updated all my profiles with my Massage Spring Specials. I was amazed at the almost immediate, dramatic increase in traffic to my site. Yep, I get it, and will use it! Thanks Steve, Lori and Greg! -

Great feedback, everyone! I attended another social media event (as did Hilary) yesterday, and I have to say that I was so pleased with the job Steve did comparatively - to help people know that they need to do some of these things, but that, as small biz owners, it happens over time. For those who are intimidated with all that he said - note a couple of things - more Biznik events focused on these tools, and I am leading a class at WCC on 5/28 you can check out too.

I'm thinking of doing some nitty-gritty sessions on social media that show you step by step how to do some of the things Steve discussed. We are also looking at adding some workshops on those topics to the fall line-up in Community Education. I would love to know what type of training in social media people are looking for? Some specifics would be helpful. I also have a list of 25 things you can blog and email about. It's not long enough yet to be an article, but, if you would like a copy just drop me an email.
