Event description

Are you new to running a business? Or have you been in business a while and have some questions about your next step? If you need to make informed decisions about growing your business, this workshop is for you.

Key information covered:

Part 1.

  • How to obtain your business licenses, become an LLC and other entity types, set up your books, etc.
  • Strategies to empower yourself as an entrepreneur

Part 2.

-The basic what, why and how regarding becoming certified as a Women or Minority Owned Business

This certification called 8(a) can help small, disadvantaged businesses compete in the American economy and federal procurement market.

Attendees can expect to...

Interact with other entrepreneurs and have fun learning some tips for managing a business.

This is set up in a low key style that is a small, discussion type event and not a lecture. Materials will be provided to all attendees for the areas covered.

Top reasons you should attend...

  • Free coffee and pastries
  • Opportunity to learn tips from the speaker and other small business owners
  • Excellent chance to learn the basics before a challenging hill becomes a mountain to climb
  • Network with your peers

The speaker will share...

Stories from her experience creating, managing and repairing accounting and human resource systems for small businesses and nonprofits. She will also ask attendees to share their stories (both success and the opposite of success) if they are comfortable doing so.

I am very excited to be co-hosting this event with W.M. This is the second event we have done and are hoping to turn it into an ongoing series; covering many different areas and aspects in business. I do hope you can make it. If you know of anyone who is looking to start their own business, please tell them about this event.
    Thank you,

    SHH

Wendy, thank you for providing some great information on "Women & Minority Owned Business" certification. Your overview on business entity types was also very helpful.
