I can't make this event, but hope that you will be doing another one. I would love to attend!
Video Profiles and Salami
Hosted by David Geller in Seattle, Washington
When: Wednesday, April 30 11:45 AM to 1:45 PM
Fee: Free
Event description
This event is a practical workshop designed to take advantage of several of the techniques described during the recent Biznik workshop "Create a Successful Video Profile Workshop" hosted by Dan McComb and presented by Pamela Ziemann and Jay Syverson.
We'll provide the venue, a video camera, studio lighting and help you to produce a short video profile you can use on your Biznik member page or web site. We'll help you record the video and then provide you with a digital copy you can upload to Biznik. If you want an archival copy you can bring your own MiniDV tape.
And since we're holding this during lunchtime and our office happens to be right above the famous Salumi restaurant (www.salumicuredmeats.com), we'll make it extra special by encouraging you to order one of their great lunch-time sandwiches and bring it up to our office. While one person records, the rest of the group can eat!
The only pre-requisite for the event is that you be able to host video profiles on your member page - which means you'll need to have upgraded your membership to Active or above (go to your Profile > Account for a link to Membership Levels) - and you prepare your script in advance (and practice). We'll help you go through a few "takes" but it's up to you to think about what you want to say. Consider buying some poster board and writing out some key words we can hold up while we're taping you.

This is such a wonderful offer -- thank you! I have to say I'm pretty nervous about doing this, but it's worth taking the plunge.

Debbie - we're not going to make you post your video! <g> We'll just be there to help you record it. So, no need to be nervous. It will be fun. And, I can safely guarantee the gastronomic aspect of the event will make attending well worth it.

Great opportunity! About how long are most video profiles? I want to make sure to prepare appropriately :)

Debbie - videos can be much longer that they should be. While the platform will support 5 min. recordings, we highly recommend something closer to 60-90 seconds.

Hi David, I would like to come but won't be able to get there until 1:45 - do you think you could squeeze me in?
Thanks! Julie

David, this was such a great opportunity to find out what you really do. Your video email software is amazing; appears to be easy to use and cost effective. Anyone wanting to get into video could become a expert just practicing with your software.
I know I'll be able to send you a ton of referrals. Thanks again for the free video profile.
Cheers!
Helen

David,
Thank you for hosting. It was great to see your facility and so generous of you to provide us with the opportunity to produce a video profile.
I look forward to the opportunity to talk to you again soon.
Debbie
P.S. The sandwich from Salumi did not dissapoint!
